"We wanted somewhere to eat after a busy day wedding planning, when I come out of the shopping outlet and see the Gretna Inn over the road so decided to check it out and I was very surprised with all the staff from how friendly...and accommodating they all were and how they helped with my partner’s dietary needs as she is lactose intolerant. So we decided to go back again today 30th March and was met with the same friendly service again and couldn’t do enough to look after us the food was amazing good size, very tasty and full of flavour. I will be coming back again and will bring the family and tell all my friends how good in fact how great it was and Del, the boss Ian and the rest of the staff have been great. And we will be booking the inn for a family dinner before our wedding"

Great quality accommodations with a comfortable room and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and the location is conveniently close to the autobahn. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Basic pub grub, reasonably priced. Staff friendly. If you like pub grub with chips then this pub is fine. I Do not recommend the new potatoes , ours were so over done they were nearly black under the skin.

I arrive just ahead of a coach party but the staff couldnt have been more helpful and more focussed on me. The food was well cooked and i think i had the best cheesecake i have ever had, can truly recommend the Salt Caramel Cheesecake....So enjoyed my meal, thank you ladies View menu

This pub is a great choice for a pre-wedding meal. We had a section of the pub reserved for us where we all gathered, ordered drinks, and then our food. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our meal for over 40 people was well-cooked and served in a timely manner. The lasagne was particularly delicious.

Stayed for a couple of nights at The Gretna Inn, lovely staff, fantastic food, and lots of it at a very reasonable price. Great value for money all round with excellent service. Rooms are basic, and very clean, but again represent good value for money....Highly recommended and will definitely stay again if we visit the area in the future.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and it was extremely busy. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. It took a long time to get a table, place our drink and food orders, and finally receive our food. Our drinks also took a while to arrive, and when they did, we had to wait for glasses and cutlery. The food was decent, but the service was in desperate need of improvement. View menu

After GRETNA HALL HOTEL and THE OLD TOLL BAR refused us patronage because my wife is allergic towards some food items, the GRETNA INN took us in with open arms and had no issues at all to accommodate us. The staff was super friendly and...could not have done more for us. We can only recommend the Gretna Inn to everybody and advise everybody to avoid the Gretna Hall Hotel and The Old Toll Bar!

We called into the Gretna Inn while on a short break nearby. We were shown to a table and given menus to peruse. The food was delicious and lot's of it and would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. However if the...staff attended to the patrons instead of Gabbing to each other it would have been a better visit for us. In spite of that I would give this establishment another visit in the future

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
