"Well we did leave a glowing review after our first visit. We returned the previous night having been very pleased with the service you provided us and how you accommodated for our autistic son. He felt at ease and wanted to return the following evening. We came along but were refused as you wouldn’t accommodate our dog which you had done the previous evening. Slightly embarrassing having to walk out and our son couldn’t understand why. Also having paid £2.60 for parking we had to return to our caravan as our son was upset. Maybe a bit more clarity needed. A disappointing end to our last evening on holiday."

Located next to the river and close to the castle, this restaurant is a popular spot. Unfortunately, the Sunday lunch was a bit underwhelming.

Fabulous, drinks and food competitively priced. The service was quick and Emillie was a complete pleasure. She’s was very informative about the local ales. Thank you.

Despite having to compete with two Christmas parties, the service at this restaurant was excellent and the food was top-notch. Both the pie and the burger and chips were of high quality. View menu

Went for Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly, food good value and delicious. Had the roast Turkey and pate starter. My hubbie doesn’t eat cheese so they where very kind and gave plain cauliflower with no problems at all. Thank you.

A lovely pub, nice food, courtious staff. However, the staff behind the bar were so hot they were sweating and obviously really uncomfortable. They need fans, as a prevous bar owner myself in,Ibiza, i know how much the fridges blow out heat. Please give them fans. View menu

The young bar staff provided excellent service at this restaurant. They were knowledgeable, polite, and accommodating. The pub food was delicious and they were well-versed in their beer selection, recommending lovely choices for dinner. The fact that the place was busy on a Monday was a great sign of a nice evening.

All the staff were so happy, friendly and welcoming. Jacob went out of his way to be extra helpful. It was such a nice atmosphere. We did not have to wait to be served because staff were on point working hard and appearing to enjoy their job, so lovely to see these days. You don't get that often. Also the music in the bar was really good acoustic like. Thanks so much Grosvenor for making our holiday that extra special.

"From the outside this place looks tired and in need of some renovation, nevertheless, my husband wanted a fish lunch so we went inside. We were given a menu, and told to check the board for prices which was confusing in itself as the options on the board appeared different. Given it is called a 'cafe ' we hoped there would be some kids non-fish options on the menu (fussy children) but there weren 't. We therefore went elsewhere and grabbed some lunch for the children but they didn 't have time to eat it outside as we were told the restaurant would be taking last orders in 20 mins (even though this was at 2.30 and the closing time was 4pm on the door). We therefore rushed back to the restaurant and found a table outside. We ordered two rolls at £26 and a short while later, an assistant came out to tell us we would have to cancel our order as they can 't allow food from elsewhere on the premises. I politely explained what had happened and that we had ordered food anyway, but she couldn 't get rid of us quick enough and cancelled our order. It seemed she wanted to finish her shift pronto, making sure staff knew it was last orders. When getting our money back she then said they had taken the payment twice so we needed £50+ refunding! How many other customers do they 'accidentally ' take two payments from?!! I would never go back here and would never recommend this place."
