On 21st,April, 2024 three of us had Sunday lunch at the Gwydir Hotel. The service provided was very good. The meal was excellent, very tasty, very good quality,food hot. Very good value for money. Ifan Hughes MBE

I thought I’d make good use of my time whilst waiting for our starter to arrive to write this review.Currently been here for 50 minutes, and we only ordered from the starter appetiser menu….still no sign of our food, or an explanation for the delay.Really unimpressed with the service. View menu

We had a booking here for dinner at 745. On arrival, we were told all the bookings had been cancelled as they had let too many walk ins sit and didn’t have our table anymore. As far as I knew this is not how restaurants run and with no one else in the village taking walk ins, we are unable now to have any dinner. Absolutely terrible way to run a restaurant and if they can’t manage to run a booking system, I doubt they are able to do much else.

Came here for drinks only. Had to order our drinks through their app. After placing our order 20 mins had passed so we went to the bar to ask where the drinks were. I could see our drinks on one of the trays at the bar and was told our drinks will get made now. Another 5 mins passed and I went back to the bar just to cancel the order but the suddenly found our order and because they had been out on the bar for so long theyd gone flat. Definitely won't be visiting again

Most places were fully booked but this had space, so despite the terrible reviews, we gave it a go. Everything appears ok when you arrive in terms of decoration and ambience, but that all changes when you meet the first member of staff who points you to a table with no grace, gratitude and any sense welcome. Ordering is by QR code on the table (which opens an online wording system on your phone) which means service is actually none existent. That said when staff do appear to present food and drink, they have all been trained by the same person... a person who you would not want to meet on a deserted street. As requested waited at hotel entrance to be seated at table outside after awhile guy said someone will be with you shortly five minutes later after rattling bottles behind the bar he came back and told us ok to sit at table that needed cleaning okay!! We asked if someone could come and clean it he answered yes whilst waiting we tried to download menu on app not very successful so after about ten minutes we asked another guy who was busy giving out drinks if someone could clean the table and take our order he said yes. Our family of 7 adults and 5 kids age 1.5 to 12 years had booked 4 rooms at this hotel and had an extremely bad experience 1 the rooms were small with no flexibility of upgrade and heaters did not work at night , also the beds were really small and could not accommodate 2 adults and 1 child of 4 years old. 2 the staircase is extremely narrow , no elevator and we had to bring our own luggage 2 floors up. 3 the staff is not helpful, do not provide any solutions 4 we did not have any towels in the room when we arrived 5 the walls of this hotel are not sound proof so there is not much privacy 6 we had arrived around 9 pm after a long travel to this hotel... since there are not much options to di...

This review is for the restaurant/food only as we didn’t stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely lovely and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. A cozy and inviting space, that is tastefully decorated. The food was unfortunately hit and miss. I had a Gwydyr 8oz burger which was nice but could have offered more for the price. It was a very simple patty in a bun with very little sauce or garnish. The meat tasted good but was slightly too salty so I had to compensate by adding various sauces to it.
