"Great facility. Comfortable and cosy setting. Service could’ve been better as the lady that we spoke to wasn’t that friendly. Thankfully we managed to get a table as it was quite busy. We weren’t looking for a large meal but instead decided to order a few starters as small plates. My favourite was the Halloumi fries. The seasoning on them was superb. We also got maple glazed chicken wings, which were good, salt and pepper calamari was spot on, slow roasted tomato arancini was ok and the stone-baked flatbread was great and finally the Camembert bites were fine. We did think that it was quite expensive considering that the quantity of food was quite low in some of the dishes but we were overall happy with our meal."

Visited this place after a long day out in Dalkeith. Was expecting just another chain pub, but the service was better than expected. The food was decent for the price.I made a friend with the Chihuahua in the garden!

Fabulous starter and main. Only prob was the wait after main to order drinks and dessert. Nobody came to check and we had to go to the bar to find a member of staff. We ordered desserts and gaelic coffees. Order was taken but then someone else came to say they had no cream for the drinks..... But otherwise very pleasant.

Really lovely service (Thanks Peter! . We went for vegan cooked breakfast and would recommend. The beetroot hash was really tasty, I've never had anything like that before. Oat milk was provided for teas/coffees on request. The staff were really friendly and service was quick. Quality touch on the drinks being complementary (due to us being in the hotel nextdoor I think .

Stayed at the Melville hotel beside the Melville inn and had food and drinks in the pub. The food was just perfect. Had the pie of the day (beef) with mash and veg and it was fantastic. Had breakfast, mainly poached eggs and beans on toast which was faultless. The staff are very welcoming. On an evening it is busy which is a good sign and the staff tend to your every need. At breakfast I saw a guy about my age (50) every day and he was fantastic. Couldn’t do enough to help and gave me some great advice for getting around the city on the bus. I will definitely be visiting here again next time I am in Edinburgh.

I am very disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant, as I have been a loyal customer for some time. I had made a reservation for 4.30, but it was not recorded. We ordered from the Festive Menu, but by 5.15 we still had not received anything. When we inquired, we were told there were only two meals before ours. The vegetables were very cold, the beef was not good, but the turkey was okay. We were given more vegetables, including cauliflower cheese, but the main course was very poor. The dessert was okay. I informed the waiting staff of my dissatisfaction and I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Fantastic food, good service and comfortable setting. Calamari starter is definitely recommended for seafood lovers not too chewy and a very generous portion. Prawn cocktail was freshly made and also devoured in a matter of minutes! Potato and leek soup was flavorsome, but unfortunately served only tepid in temperature. Most of our party had the Sunday roast lunch, which was delicious, but we were all a little disappointed to hear the pork belly was sold out. The mini dessert set on the menu is a fantastic idea and it would be even better if the restaurant can include more choices on this. Overall a great experience :

Well worth a visit. This place is slightly of the main roads and in the same grounds as other businesses. However, it's s really good choice for families, couples, groups and lone diners. The food was delicious, good portions, hot where required, plenty of choice and reasonably priced. The staff were very compliant with the Covid regulations including wearing face coverings as were the customers. There are go disabled access, toilets and parking close at hand. Situated just off the Edinburgh City Bypass close to a well known Garden centre. There's also a hotel owned by the same group next door. It may be prudent to book, especially during the festive season.
