"september 2021, for the first time in the narrow boat inn and was not disappointed. from the moment we arrived, we are welcome. the renter put the wheelchair ramp in position for us and stayed with us to make sure that we were on and off it safe, and if inside it even has our table to a more suitable for a wheelchair eating and the service were before site good traditional, non-sensual pub dub, and piping hot also! how paul it likes great prizes too dog-friendly also will be back in October 2022 with a party of twelve for our 40. high time jubilee meal on our narrow boat trip on the shropshire lady, lyneal."

Basic pub food but my fish and chips was cooked well. Good beer. Very accommodating management. Great location on the canal.

Fantastic pub with friendly service, great beer (Shropshire Gold) and good food! Perfect for a boating holiday pit stop, and has a covered outdoor seating area in case it rains while we come out of lockdown.

My girlfriend and I just happened to pop in on the way home. We had a starter and a main each and thoroughly enjoyed each course. The landlord was extremely attentive and friendly. Suffice to say that we will definitely be going again and recommend the restaurant 100

I have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the delicious food and drinks. The owner always goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. The menu consists of traditional pub fare, offering good value meals without any frills. The selection of real ales is impressive and they are consistently well-maintained.

we stayed here in our narrow boat for the evening, and I realized that we did not have blue milk for my 1 year old. the load was not opened, and I believed my happiness by asking the pub. the renter had no, so he drove for me into the shop and bought something. So we had some drinks and desserts to show our appreciation and they were delicious. so nice pub with a very nice renter who saved us! thank you.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
