"There is no doubt this pub/restaurant will greatly appeal to the vast majority of people. It has been extremely well refurbished in line with current tastes and has a friendly atmosphere. I'm sure I'm in the minority by saying I would prefer to enter the pub, go straight to the bar and order a drink without being greeted at the entrance, with the assumption I've booked, or wish to book for a meal. However, I do appreciate this a now a common practice and seen as part of the welcome. It's good to see the New Inn has retained a comfortable area for drinkers which many establishments of this type don't do. Also wonderful to see Ben back behind the bar! The food looks good, although we have only had lunch here. It's great to find such a varied lunch menu but I'd rather the sandwiches, baguettes and wraps didn't automatically come with fries maybe a small side salad could be an alternative. Having said that, the crispy duck wrap is wonderful! A personal niggle I found the the piped music outside to be intrusive and unnecessary. I'm not aware of any other local pubs that impose this. The owners have clearly done a great job, though, hopefully establishing a very successful business in trying times for hospitality."

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, top-notch service, and delicious food. The roast pork with crackling was exceptional, and the creme brulee was absolutely amazing. A fantastic pub experience!

I visited today for the first time with work chums and was impressed with the service. We were made very welcome, promptly served and our meals well cooked and presented. I can recommend the clam (vongole) pasta which was delicious. Clean plates all round.

I have been going to the New Inn on and off for maybe 25 years now. The recent refurbishment is really nice and the food is better than it’s ever been in my opinion. Met up with family on this recent visit and everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff were attentive without being overbearing- got it just right. Recommended.

We have been to the New Inn twice since it re-opened. I wasn't happy with the first visit but we wanted to give it another chance. On this occasion a member of the staff was so theatrical at asking what we wanted then when the food came it was even more theatrical. The main course of lamb was okay, but it costed £24.95 each. My sweet, Creme Brulee was like a small moose, £7.95. What really shocked us was the double gin tonic, considering that we were in a pub, £14.85 was absolutely extortionate!! The bill was over £100. Even though the New Inn is only up the road, we will not be going back.

My family and I recently had Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Heckfield. Despite our group of 11, the food was fantastic and served promptly. We all loved the Sunday Roast options, which were accompanied by a large Yorkshire pudding, roasted vegetables, and roast potatoes. In addition to the mains, we also thoroughly enjoyed our starters, desserts, and drinks. Our total bill came to £440, which works out to £40 per person - a great value in my opinion. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to host a family meal, and we look forward to returning ourselves in the near future. Bonus points for being dog-friendly!

This place is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the housekeeping staff goes above and beyond. I asked for extra milk for my cuppa and every day when I returned to my room, they had already placed extra milk and coffee for me. The front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic, with options like chicken wings with hot sauce, hoi sin crispy duck salad, and pasta with clams, white wine, and garlic. I have stayed in several places while working in Reading, and if you want great value, friendly staff, delicious food, and a comfortable night's sleep, this is the place for you. You won't be disappointed. It feels like home to me...

First visit since new management/owners and total refurbishment, of which is first class. The pub-restaurant is very inviting with excellent furnishings and comfortable seating. Menu is good and food quality excellent if not slightly expensive but as we know quality comes with a cost. Staff are very pleasant and friendly, we will most certainly be bringing our friends to try the menu soon. Note for management, my wife’s salad should have had prawns and olives served with it, we did mention it to the waitress but she didn’t seem to worry about the missing ingredients! I did rate your facility 5 stars based upon our enjoyment of the food and the quality of the furnishings, however it could qui...

What a wonderful place to be, almost like the Cheers Bar where you feel like part of the place. A warm atmosphere, the staff are very attentive without being over so. Just keeping an eye in the distance should you nod for help. The three courses were delivered to all 11 within a minute or so of each others. The courses were only cleared when the nod was given and then we were asked when we were ready for the next course and so fourth. The food is very tasty with just enough of this or that to make each mouthfull 'sparkle ' on the taste buds. Fantastic fresh ingredients that pop! I cannot rate this Inn highly enough, it just hits the spot every time without fail. If I had one wish Trip Adviso...
