"We had a bit of a rocky start when our booking was moved, but we understood that mistakes can happen. We arrived on time, only to wait for our table. After another customer complained about poor communication from the restaurant regarding their booking, we finally got seated. Although we waited a little longer for our starters, we attributed it to the restaurant being busy. Throughout our visit, we tried to be as understanding as possible. When our starters did arrive, we were still left waiting for our drinks. The bread was stale, and the soup was cold. I managed to eat my soup, but my partner's bread was drier than desert sand. When we politely asked for a replacement, we were met by the pseudo-manager, who argued with my partner rather than addressing the issue with good customer service—definitely a huge disappointment. Thankfully, a more competent waiter addressed the problem and took the plate away. Once we finished our starters, we waited and waited for our mains while still feeling hungry. My partner became increasingly impatient. We noticed the manager taking frequent breaks outside for a vape while customers complained about cold and unappetizing food. After 75 minutes of waiting, we still had not received our mains, and my partner reached his breaking point. He politely requested to speak to a senior manager, only to be told that the manager was too busy in the kitchen to come out—a clear display of unprofessionalism in my opinion. The pseudo-manager, Hailey, seemed to take out her frustrations on my partner, who was simply asking for a refund for our prepaid meal. Normally, we would have walked out and just left £20 for the poor service, but this was a prepaid meal costing nearly £150. My partner endured more grief from Hailey before finally receiving the confirmation of his refund, and we left the restaurant feeling quite dissatisfied. In conclusion, if you can’t handle the demands of the hospitality industry, perhaps it’s best not to work in it. This review comes from someone who’s been an ex-waitress in a busy restaurant chain. On a positive note, they do offer vegan options, and most vegetarian meals can be adjusted to be vegan as well."

The New Inn did not have any record of our reservation. I checked and it was not displayed on the screen.

This restaurant is definitely not worth the money. The service was terrible and we waited over half an hour for our desserts.

When we first went to the new in there were about 12 of us all showing up without booking so we were quite surprised at how fast we got a table (and a good View menu

I just had drinks at this restaurant, and it had a wonderful country vibe. There was a lovely open fire that added to the ambiance. The price per person was between £10 and £20. Service was excellent, earning a 5 out of 5, as was the atmosphere. There’s plenty of parking available, with free parking options.

The decor and food was amazing, but the staff were so slow to take orders and to serve food, seeing as the pub was not even busy this was not acceptable. The food was lovely but for a vintage inn it was quite poor for the food served and small portions. Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly really helped with our little girl. Price per person: £100+ Food: 3

The atmosphere was fantastic. The Inn was bustling since it was Christmas Eve. Service was a bit slower than usual due to the crowd, but that didn’t bother me. The food was excellent, as always. A note on dietary restrictions: the kitchen is nut-free, which is perfect for me since I avoid nuts. Price per person: £70–80. Food: 5/5, Service: 4/5, Atmosphere: 5/5. Recommended dish: Sunday Roast. View menu

This is our preferred “local” despite living 15 mins away. There’s a warm, cosy atmosphere, the regulars are lovely, and it’s very family friendly. The staff have generally been great but their latest addition, Nick, is outstanding. He’s outgoing, friendly without ever being overbearing and so enthusiastic it’s infectious. One of the best bar staff I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Keep up the great work all! Price per person: £40–50

Nice Sunday roast, if anything a bit average but would not stop me going back. Service was good but slowed down by the end of the meal. The pub is beautiful inside and out with large outdoor seating area. It has ample parking space. Vegetarian options seemed a sparce as did the menu as a whole. Would I go back? Yes. 17/12/23 Returned on the 17th and found that the standards had slipped slightly. When the food arrived it was cold and I only had half the vegetables compared to the surrounding plates. Also it would appear the portion size had gone down, to the point where everyone was still hungry even after dessert. The pub is lovely and the service is good but slowed down when it came to the...
