"During our visit to Gedney to see our brother, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. We inquired if they could seat 5 of us without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us by rearranging some tables so we could all sit together. We ordered drinks - two glasses of rose wine, a lager shandy, a lager with lime, and an orange juice with lemonade - which arrived promptly. We then ordered our food, all opting for roast dinners. The meals arrived quickly and were massive, with hot plates and delicious food. Each dish included gammon, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast and mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, and gravy. In addition, they brought out thick slices of chicken breast and a gravy boat for us to help ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and were completely stuffed by the end. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. The total bill came to just under £57, which we felt was well worth it. We plan to return next time we visit our brother."

I don't think I'll need to eat for a week after enjoying a delicious Sunday roast with all the trimmings at this restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely be returning.

This is the nicest Sunday roast I have had out for a good few years. Food beautiful and Sue Gary are hilarious and can't do enough for you. Great portion size and great atmosphere. This is just how a village pub should be, great job guys.

We popped into this little hidden gem the weekend just gone and honestly it ended up the highlight of our holiday! The pub landlords and locals were so welcoming, the food was hearty and to die for and the price was great too! We will most definitely will be paying it another visit in the near future!

Popped in for a drink on our way through. Wonderful atmosphere, really friendly, warm and homely. Chatted to staff and customers as if they had known us forever. Such a welcoming place, lovely staff, reasonable prices, decent selection of drinks and beautiful building. Didn't have time for food this time. Genuinely very pleasant visit.

Well we just popped in for a quick drink I was blown away by the welcome! There was a problem with our payment method but they worked round it with landlady Sue (I think) saying we weren’t going without a drink. We had 2 dogs with us who were accommodated beautifully with dog biscuits thoughtful consideration that one of our dogs was not the best behaved with the pub dog! To top it all we managed to break a glass which was graciously dismissed. Never experienced such warm hospitality, honestly we will be back will try some of their scrumptious looking food. Thank you for making my day!

Whilst visiting my Brother this weekend, we took him for a Sunday lunch here and so glad we did. They offered chicken, beef, lamb or belly pork with all the trimmings for £10.95 or any 3 meats for £13.50. I had the belly pork, my brother had the beef and my sister had the chicken all meals came with mashed potato, roast potato, large Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, parsnip and lashings of gravy. It was so nice yet we couldn’t eat it all we were well and truly stuffed full ! The waitress was lovely and nothing was a problem. Will definitely recommend this place and will go back soon.

We recently dined at a local restaurant and unfortunately, our experience was not great. Although the staff were friendly and welcoming, the rest of our visit was disappointing. We were bothered by fruit flies throughout the meal, the cheese platter was missing a cheese and the deep-fried hard cheese was questionable. The prawn cocktail did not come as described on the menu, with only a small piece of bread instead of a crusty roll. The main dishes were underwhelming, with tough gammon, poorly cooked steak, and soggy fish batter. The desserts had melted ice cream and the cutlery and glasses were dirty. Overall, it was not the celebratory meal we had hoped for.

"We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top of their voices so we couldn't even hear ourselves having a conversation. If people have paid for a dining experience no matter how bad that was, they should not have to put up with a table full of loud, swearing locals who were just there for the drink, keep the two things separate! Really dark and dingy in the restaurant, we struggled to read the menu due to how badly lit it was. The waitress started the evening by telling us what wasn't available off the menu, which in itself seemed odd at the beginning of the weekend to of already run out of so much. Needless to say this one bad experience overshadows previous good ones, it looks like the place has gone down hill, we won't be back! Must say though this is by no means a reflection of the staff they were lovely, it's on the owners!"
