Afternoon Tea in the Orangery was lovely. Delicious food, beautiful view (despite the ever-present Cumbrian rain and seemingly unlimited tea!

Stunning location unbelievable views of Ullswater. Silver service lunch immaculate. Food was impressively served at a cost. Would recommend as an excellent experience just for the beautiful views and the genteel setting impressive afternoon teas available.

We called into to Glenridding for a comfort break The Inn on the lake offering its own private parking was a must on a very busy sunny Sunday! The food is expensive but very well presented and the portion sizes reasonable. A very pleasant visit and will definitely call again! We may even take a room next time View menu

We enjoyed an overnight stay at the IOTL to celebrate our wedding anniversary after marrying here 2 years before. Everything about this wonderful hotel is superb; the accommodation, the location, the staff, the food and drink, the landscape, the ambience, the comfort, the cleanliness, the new terrace We will be back!

Stunning hotel, should easily be a 5 star establishment. Beautiful 360 views, at the foot of the mountains and just by a large lake with clear water. Staff are very accommodating. We went in as a large group of 40 as a last minute decision and we’re accommodated to private dine. Such an unforgettable day and attentive staff.

Visited April after the reopening. The setting is lovely on a large veranda with views of the lake. Vegetarian options are unfortunately disappointing opted for a ploughman lunchtime sandwich, which turned out to be a couple of toast slices with grated cheese, some chutney and crisps on the side plus undressed salad. With better options nearby, not my favourite View menu

I attended my Godaughters wedding at this venue. A wonderful hotel set in dramatic scenery. The staff went about there work quietly and efficiently. They were were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and the rooms very comfy with everything you needed. They are a dog friendly hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel.

We have just had a one night stay here and we have to say congratulations to all of the staff we came into contact with for making it so pleasurable and relaxing. From Ellie and Anne on reception (who must rank with the best of any hotel) to James at dinner, it was faultless. The room was beautifully clean, and the hotel goes to the greatest of lengths to provide a Covid compliant environment, without it staring you in the face well done. The ability to have your own chilled water and milk in the room, provided from dispensers in the corridor, was brilliant. The food was very good and fresh, and provided with minimum delay. Thank you to everyone, and we'll done!! We'll be back. David Jackson

We were booked in as part of the wedding party. The place is stunning and could not fault the staff and the food was excellent! The problem I had was travelling up on the day and would have liked some where to get changed. We were requested to arrive by 12 as the ceremony was at 1:00 I emailed the hotel and below is the reply (for rooms that are over £200 per night and we were guest at the wedding) We had a look on line and they actually had rooms free that day “We recommend booking the night before to guarantee you are in the room early in the morning of the wedding.
