"During our visit to London with our 15-year-old granddaughter, we decided to treat her to a special afternoon tea, as it was one of her must-do activities. We were prepared to spend 40£ per person for the experience, but unfortunately, we were left feeling disappointed. The setting was beautiful, with a lovely window seat overlooking the garden. The room was tastefully decorated with colorful framed embroidery pieces on the walls. We all enjoyed the variety of tea options and found one that suited our tastes. The tiered trays of food arrived promptly, and the scones were warm and delicious. However, the sandwiches were lacking in filling and flavor, and the bread and rolls were dry. Instead of clotted cream, we were served butter with our scones, which was disappointing for an English tea experience. The desserts were hit and miss, with some tasty options like the lemon meringue tart and layered chocolate cake, but others like the bun and macaron were not enjoyable. The service was average, with our server being indifferent and unaccommodating. We were also surprised that we were not allowed to try a different tea without paying for a new pot, which seemed petty considering the high cost of the meal."

We spent a very pleasant afternoon at Number 16. While the afternoon tea was good (albeit a little basic), the location is lovely. The tables are in a beautiful, quiet orangerie overlooking the garden. Service was friendly and attentive.

I have spent a lovely afternoon at Nr.16 Hotel’s Orangery! It was by far one of the best afternoon tea experience that I’ve had in London. The hotel staff was attentive, especially Adela who recommended the best tea and has guided us through the whole experience, making it unforgettable.

Went here for lunch, it was child friendly and the good was very good. I've knocked off a mark for the service which was a little slow to kick off and the fact that it was £10 for a small average glass of wine but I guess that's central London for you, the delicious club sandwich was £12 go figure! I would go back and thought it was a good find amidst the hustle and bustle. View menu

The venue was delightful for a very lovely afternoon tea. Excellent choice of sandwiches and other savories, along with some very pretty and tasty cakes and fresh warm scones. Excellent value for the money compared to many other afternoons teas we have been to in London, although these have often been themed. Great location about 10 mins walk from the Kensington museums. Would return.

This restaurant is located in a fantastic area in South Kensington, near Exhibition Road and surrounded by lively attractions. The staff were friendly and polite, and the restaurant has a lovely garden. The service was excellent and they offer a wide variety of teas, with the milky oolong being a standout. The food was tasty and satisfying. Overall, for a great afternoon tea experience at a good price, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I went with 4 other friends to this beautiful hotel for afternoon tea. Lovely dining room and garden. Compared with other venues the sandwiches were very run of the mill and there was no replenishment unlike you get at other venues. Extra tea was at a cost as were speciality teas at an extra £2.50. It all seemed a bit mean. A glass of champagne was £13 and not even a very full glass. All in all we had a nice time but the tea was a little disappointing View menu

The garden was a lovely setting for our afternoon tea, and the specialist teas we selected were also very good. However, our tea arrived about twenty five minutes before our sandwiches, scones and pastries. By that time our tea was cold. The sandwich bread was also cold and a little hard and dry and the fillings unimaginative. The scones and jam were warm and tasty and the pastries were fine. It’s a pity that the service was so slow and that we didn’t receive our tea and the accompanying food at the same time. It would have greatly improved our overall experience.

I visited a restaurant with a beautiful room overlooking the gardens, adorned with lovely decor and china. While the scones with clotted cream and preserves were delightful, the rest of the afternoon tea left much to be desired. The finger sandwiches were thin and lacked generous fillings, with no offer for more. The selection of tiny cakes was unimpressive. The most disappointing part was the unexpected additional charge of £13.50 for an extra pot of tea, on top of the already pricey £42 for the experience. This felt stingy and was a first for me during afternoon tea. With some improvements in portion sizes and a more generous approach to tea refills, this could be a fantastic experience.
