"The Raj is Sunday Banquet is only pp for any starter, main meal and sundrie. I have been to many a restaurant but this surely has to be the King of Kings. The extended chef specialty dishes are mouth watering and individually unique to any other restaurant in the UK. Wigan's best kept secret is no more. This treasure is to be shared it is only right to pass onto my fellow countrymen. Go and tantalise your taste buds NOW...The service is great, staff are polite and enjoy a laugh adding to the experience, and they have Cobra Beer. All in all this restaurant has all the right ingredients to be a success. Compliments to the Chef (Tilda Cup Winner) Awesome. See you at the Raj...read more"

definitiw the best in wigan if not the north!. that is our restaurant in Bangladeshi/Indian, so we are very happy - if we had lived away from meils, that would be our first choice. eating is fantastic, the personal polite and polite. as a family with a young son we are always welcome, the friendly, knowledgeable staff have always advised us well with our meal choice. we have eaten many times here, both in the restaurant and in the takeaway, and have never been disappointed with eating or service. highly recommended .

best in the north west 10 years and count. I live about this restaurant, how happy am I to have national curry weeks 2012 top 5 restaurant on my doorstep. I can't believe it's been 10 years. I was at the jubilee party. they had boomin performance and traditional home style banquet with free bar. the best night I and my family had in many years. the restaurant has changed in the course of the years, but looks very modern after the recent renovation. I would highly recommend this restaurant. visit them at least twice a week. eat with restaurant quality with best price also in wigan. loves my special rice with a pint of cobra lager.

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
