"We haven’t been to the shoot in a while but on first impressions it looked lovely as has clearly had a lick of paint. Considering it was a rainy day it was warm and welcoming and the staff were polite and friendly. There was a big group of us for my nieces birthday. We ordered drinks and sat down as we had pre ordered or food (starters and mains! I asked to change my main as I’d over indulged over Christmas and that wasn’t a problem. The food portions were a decent size! Especially the children’s meals. We ordered 3 but could have just ordered two as there was some leftover. The lady owner/manager was very attentive and accommodating with the small children which was refreshing as most places have little patience with children! All in all it was excellent. Nice pub. Relaxing as much as having 3 children goes! Good food and portion sizes. My on criticism would be the chunky chips are tooo chunky and a choice of what chips you preferred would have been good. But it wasn’t a first world problems and all in all. Super. We will definitely come again. Thank you x"

I visited a charming pub with a cozy atmosphere and found the staff to be very welcoming. The food was decent and the service was attentive. I would definitely consider returning in the future.

Great location but tired generally. Hygiene and a caring touch would boost my review up to 5. Friendly staff. Food average. Ladies toilets crying out for tlc. Cobwebs everywhere, muddy worktops, loo paper on floor. Does anybody ever check? Doesn’t feel like it. Come on guys step up I want to return. Currently wouldn’t return.

Clearly weren’t enough staff on duty which made for very slow service on a busy day. The £18.95 fish pie was reheated with very few prawns and the vegetables were cold. On the plus side, the battered fish was tasty. Portions of sides were tiny. In summary, service was slow and the food was underwhelming and not deserving of the price tag. Click

The Red Shoot Inn is beautifully situated. We had a window seat with a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We decided to have the Fish Pie. It looked lovely when it arrived, but the crust on the top was very hard and difficult to get through! We ended up picking it up with our fingers and nibbling it! Underneath it was very dry and disappointing for the price. View menu

A warm and friendly atmosphere greeted us! The staff members were all helpful, professional and friendly, and welcomed dogs as well as humans. A good selection of dishes and drinks are available. The food was served piping hot, well presented, of a good portion size, cooked well and the flavours were very good. Meat was tender and vegetables were al dente just how they should be! Seating is comfortable and not cramped. All areas are kept clean and checked regularly. They have their own car park. They even have their own campsite! Definitely worth a visit if you live locally or are visiting Ringwood or the New Forest.

When my meal arrived, I was disappointed to find only 3 thin slices of beef, half a carrot, 3/4 of a potato, 3 cold turnip halves, a small piece of kale, and a Yorkshire pudding. I felt let down by the portion size and brought it to the attention of the manager. They kindly brought out more potatoes and vegetables and apologized for the small serving, acknowledging that it was not up to standard. Overall, while the food was well cooked and I eventually enjoyed it, I felt that the meal was only worth around £10-£12, with a maximum value of £15. I was left wondering how many other customers had experienced the same disappointment but chose to stay quiet.

My family and I visited The Red Shoot for lunch. The service was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. However, we were disappointed with the food. It took 40 minutes for our meals to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. When the food did arrive, it was not worth the price. The fish pies we ordered were mostly potato with very little fish, and they were lukewarm and dry. The 'winter greens' were just boiled Kale with no seasoning. The chips were cold and the coleslaw was mostly mayonnaise. The only dishes that were enjoyable were the fish and chips and tagliatelle. For the price we paid, we expected higher quality food. It's a shame because we liked the location, staff, and ambiance o... View menu

I hadn’t visited this pub for about nine years until today as my partner I were staying in the New Forest. My last visit was a happy one when the pub had a really good menu and a warm vibe. Sadly today felt different. The staff were very polite friendly but unfortunately they made a mistake with one of our main courses. An apology was made and money was taken off the final bill, but considering the pub was VERY quiet as it was a Monday lunchtime we still don’t know how this mistake was made in the first place. The food was tasty but nothing special. It was also a shame that one of the Wadworth beers my partner had been looking forward to drinking wasn’t available either. All in all the pub n...

We visited opportunistically on a Sunday at opening time and luckily were able to get a table despite not having a booking. The man on the bar seemed unhappy to be there and even more unhappy that I was ordering food and drinks. We ordered a kids meal and a baked Camembert sharer. The kids meal was fine. The baked Camembert came with 2.5 slices of bread which was a surprise as this was described as a “sharer” and cost £15. Luckily we had a bag of old mini cheddars in our bag to pad it out with. Unfortunately despite the addition of the mini cheddars my husband and I both left feeling like we hadn’t eaten. No table check either so couldn’t ask for more bread. We could have gone to the bar to...
