"Service was terrible. We had to keep going to the bar to ask for drinks, condiments, cutlery etc Large fish and chips was the same size as a co diners small except a few more chips.when this was mentioned to the waiter we were offered some extra chips. Both the fish chips were not freshly cooked and had obviously been cooked and kept warm for some time. Not crispy. Ketchup mayonnaise served in the same pot!! We went to the bar to pay and a customers dog was lying in front of the restaurant exit in full view of all the bar staff. He didn’t move the dog out of the way so we had to step over the dog to get out. No one asked him to move the dog from being a trip hazard. When paying the bill we asked that the discretionary 12% service charge be removed as we didn’t get good service. We were told they were not able to remove it so gave us a complementary drink instead but no apology. Walking to the car on checking the bill we noticed we had been charged for a bottle of Prosecco instead of a glass. Went back again no apology from the young man got the bottle refunded but still out of pocket on the service charge against the £32.95 bottle There was a lady behind the bar that had just started service who was the only person to offer an apology. Such a shame as we went regularly during the summer and food was always good. Also prices on website are not the same as on the restaurant menu. We Won’t rush back"

"The restaurant has recently changed ownership and the improvements are remarkable. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is outstanding. It's great value for money and the dishes are delicious. They offer a wide selection for both adults and kids, with a fantastic three-course Sunday Roast option featuring beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and vegetarian choices. The restaurant also has a playground where kids can play freely. It's definitely worth a visit if you have young children and want them to have a great time."

"great eating, excellent menu choices, well presented by employees who know the meaning of customer service. well done! the music was of course fabulous, pete lincoln showed his immense musical skills and his humor and professionalism saved the day when the C.B's P.A.system failed him. his second set, when the faulty loudspeaker was switched off, allowed him to execute and not be distracted. about everything it was a beautiful evening and I would recommend the music evenings or just a great eating."

"Excellent midweek lunch. Five of us met for a reunion . We had Roast turkey , lamb chops and roast hake all included vegetables and potatoes. Service was attentive and friendly. Food cooked fresh so don't expect to rush. Food was presented beautifully, was delicious and perfectly cooked. Flavors excellent. We would all like to return and try what the others had next time. There is a Christmas set menu for prebooked parties, some items are on the a la carte Lovely pub with a log burner fire, atmospheric decor and furnishings. Interesting pictures including old album covers and movie photos Price was lower than other comparable restaurants, so offered good value considering the quality. ."

"Very popular pub/restaurant, which is quite an achievement given its location, meaning you would generally drive there. From this perspective, it is the food that attracts those having to drive home. That said, a large selection of gin and reasonable selection of beers for those fortunate enough to be in the passenger seat. We have often enjoyed the Sunday Roast, which is nicely cooked and good quality. TBH I haven 't left feeling full, but the quality is good to justify the slightly high price (although this is hard to equate given the price of things these days). Dogs are very welcome, but only in the bar area. They even have a selection of 'special treats ' that you can buy from a basket on the bar. As dogs are popular, you would be well advised to book. On a cold day, the open fire may be welcoming, but we find it uncomfortable when the weather is mild. Staff have always been polite and efficient."
