"We booked early in the day for a Christmas Eve meal. The menus weren’t as advertised on the website (which is understandable in the run up to Christmas but I hadn’t see any messages online saying the full menu wouldn’t be available). Staff were lovely and friendly and the atmosphere was cosy and warm. However, it took nearly 40 minutes to order food despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We couldn’t order with the one wait staff who was around as she wasn’t allowed to take orders. When eventually someone did come over to take our order they then told us we only had 90 minutes for our meal. Trying to pay for our meal once we’d finished also wasn’t easy and waited at the bar for a whole. I’d go back to give the pub another chance as we did like the setting. However, service would need to improve considerably"

Quiet pint, but swearing mother's, whining mother's, unruly children who ignore their mum's and miserable staff. Nice weather though!!!

Very nice looking pub restaurant. Fantastic outside seating area and playground for children. Menu was ok could have a few more choices and portion sizes are small. Parking in car park or outside on the road.

A disappointing meal. Fish very small and hard batter that fell apart when cutting. Fish very dry. Chips overcooked. Three of our group had classic burgers and all had different things with them. Some had coleslaw some salad and one just chips.

Booked 2 nights accommodation. Pub well staffed, reasonable menu, childrens outdoor area, hugh woodfired pizza oven. Accommodation very clean and comfortable. Excellent staffing skills. We had one very minor problem that was immediately sorted. Would stay again.

Went for a colleagues retirement party on the terrace and wow what a lovely pub. Great facilities for the kids who also joined us and good selection of food supplied for the buffet. Looked at the menus whilst there and was pleasantly surprised by the value and range so now considering on the shortlist for this year’s work Christmas party.

We booked a table at The Star for a large group for a family member's birthday. There were 16 of us, so a bit of a challenge for staff getting everything co-ordinated. They managed looking after a large group extremely well, everything was co-ordinated and service quick. The food was really good too, and the bill was very reasonable. But more than anything, the staff were great, accommodating and helpful.

Selected The Star as my wife dines here once every 4-5 weeks with a group of friends. Came for Sunday lunch for my family and it was very busy. But service was OK, Sadly the roasts that we were served were disappointing; the roast beef was too much for the cutlery; roast turkey breast was carved in right angles which was novel. Vegetables were under cooked. The desserts were OK but the size of the sticky toffee pudding was very small. A very small potion of ice cream. Altogether a very disappointing meal. Having dined here before I know that they can do better.

I enjoyed the varied selection of food a lot including different sized meals. The small plates were particularly appreciated. The room was comfortable and warm although the TV was on the side wall which means you get a stiff neck. The bathroom could do with modernising but was clean and functional. I really enjoyed my stay. The Inn was exquisitely decorated for Christmas and had a lovely cosy feel. Avoid the right hand side behind the wine rack as it was very cold indeed and would benefit from some heating in winter. The staff were efficient and clearly work very hard but I didn’t see a single smile for two days.

"Tarana Review of Tarana restaurant Lingfield , location is very prominent , on the main High Street. The restaurant can be easily be seen on the high street after passing the roundabout as you enter the high street . As you enter the front door , you quickly realise it’s so large in size and very spacious with colourful lighting. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with a wow factor , great ambiance . As you walk through there is lounge bar area on the left to enjoy a drink before you are seated to your table. Tonight we are here to dine and enjoy the Dua Lipa live tribute singing and dancing so great atmosphere here tonight ! They have a wonderful range of cocktails non alcoholic and alcoholic with exciting range of drink menu . Great if you’re driving and not in to alcohol , the choice is unlimited unlike your usual typical indian with basic soft drinks . There is dance floor to do some hip hop or just slow , choice is yours! We have been to most of their restaurants and it’s “simply the best” in terms of entertainment food and drinks . The prices are very reasonable for what you get from them and service is wonderful with a smile King prawn butterflies appetisers and king purree , wonderful and nicely flavoured, served with designer chillies and salad . Main courses , Tiger Prawn biryani King prawn biryani duck biryani with side dishes of fresh bindi bhaji sag bhaji tarka dall wow ! Simply mind blowing food "
