Lovely pub. Friendly atmosphere with a nice beer garden. The food is spot on and you get large portions. The Seafood platter was excellent as are the burgers.

Visited this evening as a table of 5 food was very nice, big portions and great value for money, drinks are a good price too attentive friendly staff and lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back.

Great family Sunday lunch staff helpful and so good. A special shout out to Lorna thanks son is coeliac and they provided a great Yorkshire gluten free. Can't recommend highly enough. Had beef and loads veg. Kids loved their ice cream sundaes.

Lovely evening with me and my wife food was very good a big portions! Great value for money unfortunately had to endure a awful guy while we was there being rude and abrupt to staff even when they were doing everything possible to help him, very well handled by management, well done. First visit and won’t be our last!

We stumbled across this pub after visiting Shiben Hall. Oh my days what can I say, the food was amazing and freshly cooked. The homemade chips were fantastic. We loved how old the building was and the history around it. The staff were super friendly and chatty. Couldn't do enough for us. Deffinitly not a place to miss.

Having tried the Sun in for food on various occasions in the past, we went for a meal Wednesday evening as we’d heard the food had improved under new management. We weren’t disappointed! Although the menu is not extensive (in my opinion ‘less’ often means better) it is typical pub food well cooked. The star of the evening was Mia Young, the lovely waitress that served us. We had good banter with her, she was an ambassador for the pub/restaurant and it’s food. A great asset to the sun inn! We will definitely return!

Went for dinner with husband, ended up with him watching me eat ,he asked for fresh eggs as came hard on all day breakfast ,left the meal there said will ask if he can have some .we had to ask for fresh meal as waited 20mins then waited 35mins not asked if we wanted any drinks etc.decided to canx new meal and asked for the bill got up to pay at the bar as yet again sat waiting, to be met by an exceedingly rude man who told us in no uncertain terms to get out and not come back .I have worked in hospitality for over 30 years and never encountered such appalling customer service.

We went last minute on a Saturday evening and were given a nice table away from the bar. We were served by Lorna who was very attentive and helpful. We shared Panko Prawns and Chicken Goujons in a JD sauce and both were delicious and good sized portions. For main my wife had the special Chicken Tikka kebab, which she really enjoyed and was packed with chicken. I had the 12 oz Gammon which was perfectly cooked with peas and a fried egg, which disappointingly was not runny but did not spoil the meal. The portions were so big we took a container of the excellent chips and some gammon home for the next day. The beer was well kept and the total bill including a pint of coke came to just over £49....

We had a meal at the sun inn on 14/07/23 The food was absolutely gorgeous as usual. The staff were all great as usual. While having out meal there were a couple sat at the side of us who had an issue over how the eggs were cooked. And decided to sound off to the waitress who offere to have new eggs cooked or a fresh meal. The couple grumbled and moaned and decided on a fresh meal. Obviously this takes a little time to make as there were a number of meals being prepared at that time.
