"Came here with family after calling to book with no problem. We were told there was a few things unavailable (risotto, Vegan katsu, onion rings, cauliflower croquets), luckily we didn 't want any of these. The website menu shows toasties and sandwich/wrap available, but they only had 'open sandwiches ' on a separate menu. I went for the chicken, bacon and avocado one and was left quite disappointed. It was overall dry, bland and with a small amount of warm, wilted rocket next to it. More of a salad would have been better. I added some more mayo and bbq sauce and had some salad and chips from my families dishes which made it better. My family had the fish and chips (given garden peas when we asked for mushy), hunters chicken and chicken and ham pie (could have done with a bit more gravy). I then noticed another customer ordered an open sandwich and it looked like they had loads of rocket. So don 't know what happened with mine.. I expected better after seeing good reviews and the menu choice online. My family were satisfied their food, but we won 't bother returning."

This used to be a charming pub, but it has declined lately. I don't think the food is very good anymore. We miss you, Tom!

Have visited The Swan on several occasions, usually for lunch as family live in the area. We have never been disappointed. Food is first class with lots of choice on the menu. Venue spotless on each occasion. Staff friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

Me and my father had a lovely lunch here. Very nice ambience to the place- lovely decor and very clean. We had the mussels and fries and the chickpea burger, which were both very tasty. The service was fantastic- very friendly staff, especially Ben. We really enjoyed our meal here and will be back again.

We came for lunch for my friend's 65th birthday yesterday. There were four of us. The food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming. Lady with blond hair (didn't catch her name) was amazing. She couldn't do enough for us. We had a cake and she made such a fuss of my friend. Thank you so much for a lovely lunch. View menu

We stopped by the Swan for a late lunch, and the food was wonderful. It wasn't very crowded, so the service was quick, and the waitstaff was very friendly. The menu had a great selection, and the pea and mint risotto was outstanding. The atmosphere was delightful, and everything was impeccably clean. We will definitely return!

Second time eating at this pub. Both times had terrible food this time I had a burger. it had 3 tiny bits of onion inside, burnt stale bun, and you can tell it’s poor quality meat. There was also something inside my chips and waited over an hour for our meal. Slow, poor quality food. The gentleman that dealt with us was lovely, only pro.

First visit to this pub. First impressions were great. Choice of beers right up my street. Ordered Peroni and Pinot Grigio. Sat in main bar right near open fire. Tried to book a table for 4 for Friday night. Unfortunately due to staff illness restaurant was closing for the weekend. What a disappointment. Fabulous place nice environment will have to come back and try again. View menu

This is a cozy and inviting village pub that's perfect for a meal with friends or family, or just for enjoying a drink. On Mondays, they host Poker night with ales priced at only £2.50. They also have music nights. I was particularly impressed by the soloist performing on a Sunday evening when I stopped by; I would have happily paid £10 to see him perform at a venue, but it was completely FREE!

Very disappointed with the service at this pub. Came at 5pm on a Sunday for food to be told they are no longer serving however your site says food to 9pm when questioned the gentleman just looked at be blankly and with no care in the world. This isn’t the first time we been refused food. We been down a few time at both lunch and dinner time to be told they can’t serve food due to a big booking (yet there were empty table in the restaurant area) Please do explain why there’s a menu when we are never allowed to order from it, why is there a website that provides incorrect info or is it the staff making there own time up

"My previous experience dining at Tana Thai was nothing short of faultless and second to none in both service and the quality of authentic Thai food served. So I had high expectations for my second visit and was not left disappointed. We ordered the Thai experience for 2 for £27, which in my opinion was excellent value for money. The staff once again were welcoming and accomodating ensuring we had an enjoyable and pleasant dining experience. Tana Thai manages to deliver a varied menu with generous portion sizes. If your looking for authentic Thai flavours with subtle flavour combinations of hot, spicy, sweet, and sour then Thana Thai gets a A+ from me every time. We will definitely back in the future. My friend and I dined at Tana Thai for the first time tonight, we were not disappointed. We have dined at other Thai restaurants in Bedford and would certainly place Tana Thai along side the best of them for flavour and authenticity. The service from the staff was both friendly and prompt. The mixed starter for two was filling and tasty, with the Thai spring rolls certainly being the star of the show. We ordered beef in black bean sauce with egg fried rice and a mixed seafood pad thai. The beef was succulent and tender and the seafood was cooked perfectly with a mixture of crushed nuts on the side for texture. An excellent meal and excellent service, thank you."

"Reminiscing about the great time we had at this place last night! We spent the weekend in Bedford visiting relatives and decided to book this place, because we’re big pizza fiends and the reviews meant it made sense! Have not stopped thinking about the food all day! If you’re lucky enough to know what a proper Neapolitan pizza tastes like and have been chasing the dream of tasting it again… look no further! If you haven’t been to Naples before, then this place takes you there and back in one evening! This is hands down the best pizza outside of Naples! In fact I would go as far as to say that it could easily hold its own amongst the 100s of pizzerias in its birth City! The restaurant itself is casually quirky… named after the owner’s mother, with photos to couple that offer a little glimpse into the owners background with Italian memorabilia for days… including a real vesper hanging on a shelf from the ceiling, you’re hit with the scent of the wood fired oven as soon as you walk through the doors letting you know instantly that you’re in for a treat… the real deal! The relaxed, but upbeat vibe coupled with the warm and attentive welcome and service from the owner and the staff meant it was only fair to start with a round of Aperol Spritzes, which was followed by a number of bottles of delicious Primitivo throughout the meal that ultimately led to some singing and dancing at the end of our meal! We allowed the owner to recommend lots of things off the menu to share and boy did he not disappoint! Everything from pizzas, to pizza rolls to bruschetta meant that we were all able to try the classic Neapolitan pizza base with various different flavours! Highly recommend trying the Pizza Tartufo if you like truffle! I’m Italian and visit Naples most years and the pizza base is up there with the best I’ve tried! Hats off to the pizzaiolas as mastering this culinary delight is not easy! The pork meatballs in tomato sauce and oven roasted cracked pepper and salty ribs were delicious! But aside from the extremely high quality of the pizzas it was a bowl full of cheese and charcuterie that stole the show! Imagine a huge ball of creamy burrata that when cut open released loads of tiny balls of morzarella! It was truly next level! I have never seen or tasted anything quite like it! We finished with a round of espressos and some traditional Italian pastries, which were out of this world! We had such a lovely evening from the food to the wine, service to the vibe it really was exceptional! The only thing I wasn’t happy about was leaving, knowing that this restaurant isn’t on my doorstep! The only saving grace is the avoided damage it would do to my waistline if it was, as I would be here every weekend! Cannot wait to go back!"
