I'm also disabled so car parking was perfect , A member of the care team walked down with my friend who was in his electric wheelchair .. This small moment of independence , a trip out for lunch at the pub is such boost to my old mate who , after a stroke Is dependent on the carers .. when we arrived we were treated by the landlord with the perfect balance of consideration and courtesy, offering us tables on the flat level with ample space entirely suited to our limited mobility. asking about hand pull beers, he recommended the Hobgoblin, Ruby, which , in the midlands i had never seen on pump before. A good pint and well kept. Recommended but the regulars we went for the fish and chips .Fresh fish, really thin crispy batter cooked to perfection (by the landlords wife he swears, that would not shame the gastropub sector was just what was required. Went to their first Sunday dinners since they’ve opened for food. Was delicious 5* , good atmosphere, good service, happy to help with anything and wasn’t ram packed busy! I would urge everyone to give them a chance, the food looks amazing and the atmosphere and ‘feel’ of the pub is like it’s never been before.
