"We’ve given this restaurant five star reviews in the past but on this occasion it wasn’t up to scratch. Service is always good but the Ciabattas were really disappointing. The Bacon Brie one barely had any Brie on it and any establishment in Lincolnshire serving up a sausage Ciabatta like the one we had here needs to take a good look at itself. Lincolnshire is renowned for its sausages and the menu proudly displays the name of the butchers from where they were sourced. I’m not sure that they were ever going to be great Lincs sausages compared to what’s available in nearby Boston but it seemed like they had been ruined by being cooked earlier and either kept warm or reheated which resulted in a rubbery barely warm disappointment."

Arrived an hour early but not a problem even though they were extremely busy. Great service and great food. We would highly recommend.

A lovely place to pop in to for a light lunch or even a special occasion. A very nice menu of local produce to choose from. My only gripe is that things can be a little over priced

Lovely tea, sandwiches and chips. Very well organised, quick and efficient service, cracking sandwiches. Chips were tasty and cooked to perfection. And the tea.... absolutely the best.

Went a couple of times for a pot of tea for tea. Very good value at £4 for the pot, four of five cups out of it. Pleasant surroundings and polite and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

An excellent lunch at this restaurant. Named “tea house” but offers so much more. We had the blade of beef and liver and onions , lots of veg, all piping hot. Efficient and friendly staff. Could not have been bettered in a 5star establishment

A wonderful place to visit, in rural England. service well beyond expectations, the hospitality is with a passion that is beyond first class service. Very warm and welcoming. The food is home cooked, steaming hot, with big portions at reasonable prices. If you are in the area, a visit to the Tea House in the woods is a must.

Absolutely beautiful place. The food was amazing and all cooked to perfection. I had the tapas starter followed by the guinea fowl and it was some of the best food I've had in a long time. The prices were reasonable and the service fantastic, especially from the dark haired gentleman who was working this evening (4th April). So polite, attentive, and a credit to the business. Would love to return.

My experience at this restaurant for Afternoon Tea on March 6th, 2021 was wonderful. The setting was lovely, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Everything was homemade and the price was very reasonable at £13.75. The Afternoon Tea included a choice of teas, sandwiches, a large scone with cream and jam, lemon posset, a slice of cake, and a chocolate mint on departure. I was very happy with everything and would highly recommend this place.

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
