"has taken the family to Christmas dinner and it was amazing! the goat cheese star was for to die, and the grilled cocktails that my gad and gran had very well fallen. dad and I had bark meat wellington and gran had the turkey dinner, the wellington was amazing, all handmade with a delicious pate between the baked and the melt in mouth bark, and gran was acidified with the truthahn and the fact that it can be moist and as delicious as many places it can be dry. the whole veg was succulent and al dente, cooked to perfection! we were all disserted, but the cheese table and cream glasses could not be missed. the waitress asked kindly whether we would rather take the cheese home. the personal was attentive, but not swaying, eating was fast, but we never felt rushed. in all this was a wonderful Christmas experience, I have eaten here and want to love this place again!"

Great pub! Friendly staff and welcoming environment. They also have an area to play pool, table football... and pinball!! Reasonable prices too. Can't vouch for how busy it may get, as was early afternoon midweek.

This place is newly opened. Fully refurbished and an enthusiastic patron. Very welcoming and great at creating a good atmosphere and events. I want to go back. It is early days and probably teething problems but the night we went we waited a long time for the food, and not so busy. There were about 20 of us and most meals were good but some were not e.g. the pasta options. I'm posting a review because I want this place to be the success it deserves. Food and service are the heart of a place. View menu

We were travelling north and stopped at a caravan and motorhome club site about 3/4 mile from the Royal Oak Tibshelf. The Royal Oak has had a very obvious refurbishment and we received a very lovely welcome from the new owner. Good menu with plenty of choice, service was great and food plentiful. I had the sea bass tonight and it was really good, cooked to perfection. Red wine (I know it should be white! was excellent. Nothing to fault about meal and service and would definitely come back to this pub/restaurant. Footpath all the way to and from the campsite!

From entering with a group of 13 5 of which where children below the age of 7 years before 7.30pm on a Saturday evening. In which we where the largest party in the pub at 7.00pm on a Saturday. The children where playing (as 7 year olds do) in the extensive outdoors area as well as in the indoors (grab machine and pool table). There was complaints made about our children which we immediately dealt with however the landlord abruptly and rudely approached one of our party about. Which we did not appreciate the passive aggressive type of tone. (Quite down or you’ll be kicked out etc) On leaving the said landlord then approached us with again a passive aggressive tone as a party member defused th...
