"We booked here for the first night of our stay of a half term trip . The hotel is set high above the town and accessed by a narrow twisty road, and only have limited parking. Although it was dark, the harbour looked lovely lit up at night and I am sure that during the day the view would be stunning. We were warmly welcomed by staff and took our seat at a table in restaurant situated in a large conservatory on the side of the hotel. It was warm and bright, great music selection being played and had a lovely atmosphere . There was a wide menu choice and a selection of specials. They also offered a selection of gin cocktails featuring local gin, which are highly recommended. The meals were well cooked great tasting and looked great on the plate. We enjoyed our meal so much we re- booked again for our last night , and although it was a similar menu just different specials) but we had the opinion there was a different chef on duty. The taste wasn't so good and meals did not look so elegant on the plate. Also on several of the dishes odd things listed on the plate weren't there or had been changed. It almost seemed that they had run out of supplies or maybe that the hotel was at the end of the season and using up stock. the meal was ok but it would have been nice if staff had apologized that the ingredients weren't available and what had been replaced, especially if people had allergies. It was still a nice meal and would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Mull especially later in the year when eating choices are limited."

This restaurant offers a variety of vegan options for appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all clearly labeled on the menu. The food is well-prepared and delicious. The service is excellent, and the view from the conservatory and balcony overlooking Tobermory harbor is stunning.

It’s a really nice hotel but if you expect what you normally get from a hotel I’m sure you will get disappointed. No room service at all , Brownish colour water was coming out from the hot water tap in the washroom and very Poor hospitality. Not at all satisfied with the stay . View menu

I haven't been since the experience was not great. this time, although a small look into the timetable we missed the entertainment for an hour, was absolutely wonderful! I never ate! eating was fast, the staff was attentively friendly. would recommend it! the price was also very good.

could not recommend this place, there was no room service, we tried to contact the reception made available about the landline, but the call did not go though, dirty water came through the hot water tap into the washroom, also, the worst part happened after we checked out the hotel, the recipeist tried to take from my friend bank without asking us about the full payment, we had asked

The spacious dining room is located in a conservatory high above the bay, with spectacular views. For some it may be advisable to drive or take a taxi up the short steep climb. The menu has a good range of dishes from traditional to many overseas influences, all utilising local ingredients. As you would expect a decent wine list and wide range of other drinks are available. Our food was excellent, nicely presented, perfectly cooked and delicious, with superb flavours. Service was first class, polite, friendly and efficient. We felt our meal was very good value taking everything into account. The whole experience had a nice traditional feel to it. View menu

it was our jubilee. So I wanted a special culinary experience for me and woman. the western skeletons didn't let me down. there were 4 of us on our party. we ordered salmon cerwitsche and I had lobster bisque for starters..3 steaks for net and a venison with special black pudding and kartoffel stack. matthew, the manager...while very young his employees looking for his clients...a bit out of a abandoned as the two male server were East European...and while polite. the English language was limited. I have added. that has caused no problems with one of the services. I visited the island mull and tobermory since 1993 and have never eaten in the western part. that will change from now on. unique...

I made a reservation at this restaurant before our trip to Mull, as I was unsure of vegan options available. After looking online and seeing they had a few options, we decided to give it a try. The hotel is located up a steep hill with a fantastic view overlooking Tobermory and the bay. Even though we arrived when it was dark, I can imagine the views would be incredible from one of the tables by the big windows. The only vegan starter option was a cauliflower steak with tahini sauce, but I decided to skip it. For mains, there were two options: a beetroot burger and gnocchi with asparagus and walnuts. I went for the gnocchi with a side of wilted greens, while my partner opted for sweet potato...

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
