"Ti Toques doesn't have the white linen tablecloths and stuffy atmosphere you'd expect from a restaurant serving food of this quality and imagination. In fact it's so unassuming I almost kept walking. That would have been a huge mistake. The cozy restaurant is small but not cramped. The service is extremely friendly - with excellent English spoken should you choose or in my case my rusty French accommodated with a cheerful smile. The Entrée section of the menu features items that sound like dessert (this is called out on the menu) but are actually savory starters. I had the tarte tatin with seared foie gras - a crust topped with baked apples and a piece of seared foie gras. It was excellent. My main course was the local sea bass served with two whole scallops. It was also delicious. The main was served with a whole potato that appeared to have been baked then deep fried (I admit this one was lost on me. The potato was good but blisteringly hot). Very full I nearly passed on dessert until I found out the special was a tarte citron so I gave in. I truly enjoyed everything served. Mouth burns from the potato aside I'd come back to this place in a heartbeat."

What I ate in this restaurant was really above the lot. Especially the chef's dish: the octopus. From mignardise to dessert it was a treat. The service was classy and friendly without being invasive.

A really excellent kitchen for a good quality price ratio. But then the wait is endless. 45 minutes before we get the card. Then 30 minutes before the backlog of the entrance. The 20 min bill while we're the last customers in the restaurant. At the end of three hours in the restaurant. Arrived at 8:30 left at 11:30 View menu

The Vegetarian menu was fantastic. Professional, quite, and romantic ambiance. The chef speaks with all guests and it is clear that no short cuts are taken in the food preparation. The waitresses gave me detailed information about the cheeses that I was served, I'd love to come back with my husband. I highly recommend this restaurant which is not in a busy, tourist street, but rather located in a quite street.

Had a fabulous tasty meal at this restaurant. Arrived without a reservation to find it very busy and with only space outside. Was a warm evening so didn't mind and were glad we stayed. The food was wonderful and lots of choice on the set menu. It wasn't cheap but I suppose it was good value compared to the rest of the area. Service was a touch slow but it was full I suppose. Overall a lovely dining experience and would definitely return. Mrs M said the scallop starter was one of the best starters she has ever had!

"In this location, surrounded as it is with large restaurants spilling out onto the pavement with their me-too menus of les pizzas and pâtes and overly familiar sounding meals, it is most unexpected to find a bespoke and personal restaurant offering a fine selection of dishes cooked with care. The menu, described appropriately as the 'carte du moment' presents a mercifully small number of seasonal and therefore changing entrées, plats and desserts. However, it is still hard to choose. Each one is enticing, interesting and original with the promise of flavours, combinations of ingredients and textures, without tricks and unnecessary embellishment. For a large number, a selection of all the entrées as share dishes makes a lot of sense. Everyone gets a taste of something and the difficulty of having to choose is avoided. For the plats, a single selection is best with pork, duck, tuna and salmon along with risotto as options on the night we were there. A fine burger also available is perhaps a concession to the location and, actually, a very fine dish. Four desserts are offered with each one tempting and beautifully prepared. Another selection for the table is highly recommended. The wine list is adequate and the ambiance works for lone dining as well as for a larger and more raucous group. The service is smiling and efficient as well as courteous. This is a place to make a favourite. The risk to this reviewer is that it will become deservedly highly popular and impossible for last minute bookings."
