"On New Year's Eve, we decided to try this restaurant after hearing great reviews. We were not disappointed! We ordered a munch box for £13.50 and it was absolutely delicious. It included curry sauce, chicken balls, salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, prawn toast, spring rolls, spare ribs, fried rice, sweet and sour sauce, and prawn crackers - all of which was more than enough for two people. The service was excellent, and they even gave us two free cans of soda and fortune cookies for the New Year. We left very satisfied and will definitely be returning soon. Thank you!"

I would to say that I was recommended this takeaway by someone and although it's close to me I have never used it as it looks shabby from the outside also inside! I have to say the food was amazingly good very tasty and the service good too.

Tommy Lee, a legendary chef known for his mastery of Chinese cuisine, will be retiring on March 24, 2024. This means there is only tonight and tomorrow left to experience his delicious dishes. The restaurant is very busy, so it is recommended to place your order early. View menu

Our family has been going to Tommy Lee's now for years now. The food is always delicious, the containers are always crammed full and you never have to wait long at all. The ribs are great, as well as the chilli chips and the lemon chicken. It's rare that you find such a consistently good takeaway. Would recommend to anybody.

Went to the local takeaway whilst visiting parents. Looking at the menu it hadn't changed for many years.. but that wasn't going to put me off! Service was friendly, plenty of choice to order from and prices weren't bad. Ordered quite a bit of food, quite a variety.. it was cooked fresh, but didn't take long. Very tasty, well recommended, my mum is now a huge fan of their chips!!

Every time I try to visit, the restaurant is closed even though the Google page says it's open. Please update your hours as this is becoming frustrating. Also, is the cash-only policy permanent? I have missed out on dining here numerous times because I only have a card. I have heard others express the same frustration. The potential loss of business is significant, as discussed in the local pub. View menu

Best Chinese take-away in the area beyond, Pak Po Duck best meal on the menu. Tommy Ling and their staff always courteous. Yes it is a cash only as it is a small family business but the benefits are the finest quality food fantastic value for money cooked fresh on every order. Try the meaty spring rolls you will get a treat, far superior to the veg spring rolls, handmade by Ling, just fabulous. To those who want a delivery service go elsewhere you will miss out all for the sake of a short walk or even faster by car, it's worth the effort.

"Visited this weekend for a family celebration and had an unremarkable experience. Decor of establishment was rather nice. Admittedly, we were a large booking of 17 individuals and this can be challenging to manage and organise for such a small establishment. The mature gentleman was rather rude to our host whom asked for an additional chair for the party as we were one short despite finalising numbers as agreed earlier in the afternoon. This is no way an appropriate manner to treat guests and clearly set a bad example for his staff as well as the wrong tone for the evening ahead. Guests were not even properly seated before being hounded for their drinks order despite not being given a drinks menu. Upon asking about cocktails to the waitress whom was pleasant she was unable to give the full selection just the three she knew of the top of her head that were the standard run of the mill selection. To give full credit to her fo honest regarding the diaquiries before we ordered them in. The cocktails (passion fruit martini and cosmopolitan's) ordered were disappointing as they tasted watered down and lacked a bang. Don't understand why one of the passion fruit martinis was brought out in a drinks glass which was rather random. Drinks orders were taken on an ad hoc basis with the waiting staff not taking a full tables order walking away as people attempted to give their drinks order, unintentional maybe? We were rushed to give our starters/mains orders all of which came promptly and all guests received the correct order. The waiting staff shouted out food orders from the top of the table to identify who's order was who's. The pasta based dishes were pleasantly enjoyed yet the pizzas and parmesans proved to be somewhat vanilla. Not all guests had properly finished eating their meals before the gentlemen asked if he could remove plates before receiving an answer from the full table resulting in some guests to not finish their meals. We were not offered a deserts menu once they removed dishes from the table. We had second hand embarrassment for an additional family party whom were having a celebration meal at the restaurant. The party had started to get settled at the table putting out their balloons etc when the mature gent stormed over barking at them to move as he shoved table and chairs across the restaurant. This clearly made them feel uncomfortable as was noticed and commented by the service users of the restaurant. The waiting staff plonked the celebration cakes on the table one of which didn't even go to the correct individual. NO SPECIAL MEMORY OR MAGICAL MOMENT TO BE HAD FOR A 18TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. It would have been nice if they had asked before bringing it out as some of our party partially missed out on the occasion. The bill was given to the wrong individual instead of the host which allowed for everyone to see the bill when this was an private affair. To be perfectly honest we visited a few months earlier and had a disappointing experience but with better service. Linthorpe Road is bursting with alternative, superior, independent eateries that I would highly recommend instead."
