"We visited in December and were made aware that there were set menus only at this time and a choice of 4 - 6 courses would be offered - we were advised by the owner to browse the internet a week before we come to make sure this would be acceptable to us - a nice gestureWhen we arrived we were brought to a nicely laid table with quality crockery - the decoration is purpuseful more than stylish, despite this beeing a charakter building in the Gruenderzeit part of NuerbergThe Food 4 of us choose 4 courses, two 6 all with the reasonable priced wine pairing - there was an englsih menu for the non German speakers provided a further nice touchThe prestarter was a nice indian european fusion dish with a tandoori twist, followed by a Schwarzwurzel Soup with the interesting addition that the soup and named roots where served seperately interestingThe second starter - suckling pig in my case on brussel sprouts and with sesam was one of my favourites and also the second one duck liver terrine was very good- I had an oppurtunity to try the risotto with beetroot, too and this was the second best starterMy main was veal cheeks, which was nice but not near as good as the Fish (Waller - a german predatoty sweetwater fish) and the goose sampled by other members of the partyDesserts sampled by me were the Wuerzhaus Chocolate and the cheese selection which were both excellentThe wines were well preseneted and matched and gernerously served - top ups were available when wished (and not charged)The service was very efficient and competent, if a bit sterileEnjoying a meal like this with six people and walking out with less than 500 euros to pay shows outsatnding value and makes this a great recommendation - to gain a star a bit moe cosnsistency and the line up and a bit more warmer service would be all that is needed - well worth a visit"
