"This was expected to be a great evening however, failed miserably. We were sat in the back of the restaurant near the fireplace (which was not on) it was cold in this room and we were ignored most of the evening. This was a special occasion for a friends' birthday and fell well below par of what is expected of this acclaimed restaurant especially that which is located in a hotel. We had several waiters/waitresses attend to us and the lack of communication between them was shocking. We were there to enjoy an evening with a nice meal not have to repeat ourselves to the waiting staff. Our drink order was taken about 15 minutes after we sat down and we had to wait a further 20 minutes to receive the same. We placed our order for starters and they were brought out one at a time and by the time the last person in our party received hers the person that got theirs first had finished. We wanted to eat together therefore made a request our mains be served together. When our main course eventually arrived there were items missing from what we had ordered, some dishes were cold and incorrect. We ordered the salmon and were given seabass. When we questioned this the manager insisted that it was salmon and not white fish. After we argued the point he reluctantly admitted we were given the chilean seabass not the Salmon. The dish was replaced as we neared the end of our main course. We were so hungry by this point that we just ate the food. In all honesty the food was nice but the whole experience was disappointing and unacceptable. We sat at our table at 6:30pm and did not leave until 10pm. This was not because were having a great time but due to lack of effective service. Whilst we were offered free drinks and some of the items removed from the bill it certainly did not make up for the ordeal. The staff need to be trained on how to effectively communicate with each other and up the level of service providing the diners with good efficient service."

"I was quite surprised to discover a whole food dish across whole food in our search for bones of daddies. the current magic of the weather has kept me looking for suppe and ramen art of food. after a trip to the design museum, tried to find a place for early dinner and revealed bones of daddies that I had previously written literally. while it is set in a food dish, bone daddies has its own place for diners, so when they enter, they will feel a restaurant. we arrived early at 6:30, but there were already a few tables with people who share small tellers and drinks from their extensive menu. we left us on a jasmin tee and carrot orange juice (alcohol detox diet is on, otherwise I would like to try some of the exciting sakes on the menu) the table had a series of spicy chili paste (vegetarian, no garnel, yay for me,) sesame seeds, garlic marinated vinegar. the lady got us a little extra chili oil when I asked that my robbers are sharp. they also offered horny ties (elastic straps) and plastic straps. such a thoughtful gesture to eat rammen. he had a late lunch and didn't want to go to the main course, but I was really hungry. So we have for several small plates and one main. the fried chicken went well with wasabi mayo dip that accompanied the chicken summer roller. I think the fried chicken deserved the bathroom more than the roll. the chili pork bao was beautiful, but I was surprised to get only one piece (a previous picture on this group may have sown my expectations) it was great so that we cut it into half to share. the plastered shijitake was perfect for what I wanted (to cut the viscous texture of the toncottsu wheel) the rave was perfect. I liked the lower part of noodles to veggies and I had ordered extra mushrooms and pork. While I prefer a higher proportion of protein and veg of carb, I must admit that I would have enjoyed much more of the noodles (they have the opportunity to order extra) they were really good. the small mochi ice balls were perfect. not too sweet, just a hauch sweet. I have tried the yuzu, hazelnuts and chocolate, although I was a chocoholic, I have to say the yuzu hazelnuts were very preferred. I know now where I'm going to eat when I'm on the kensington high street in the evening. there is so much more in the Starter menu that I want to try and I love their version of the Tonkotsu wheel."

"I eat here whenever I come to Heathrow as I quite like the Itsu chain for their healthy and convenient Japanese style food. Although it 's not like one of those hard core authentic (and usually expensive) Japanese restaurants, it does a healthy take on Japanese food and combines a few Western ingredients such as Avocado and does low carb salads so it 's great for something less heavy before a flight. They have various sushi bento boxes, salad boxes such as Tuna sashimi salad, edamame, sashimi etc. However, if you are looking for real Asian food, you will not find it here as this a very Westernised take on Japanese food combined with the latest health trends. For those who prefer hot food, they have some great brown rice bowls and soups too, although I found the soup to be a bit too salty. My mum had one of the curry brown rice bowls and found it to be pretty good and quite filling. The prices are decent enough, not overly expensive but not super cheap either. Most things are around or less than £10 though. The service was ok, although they forgot to make my coffee so I actually had to go up and remind them about it. They have a nice selection of smoothies and drinks plus a cute panda shaped bento for kids. The portions are perfectly sized; not too big and not too small. In terms of freshness, it 's hard to judge as everything is in the fridge and you just pick out what you want. I saw then restocking it a few times, so I suspect it would be reasonably fresh. Overall: Healthy and convenient Japanese-ish style food that won 't make your wallet cry. Food: 3/5 Convenience: 5/5 Prices: Reasonable Variety: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Seating: 4/5"

"We decided to visit Fukuoka for a special birthday meal. Admittedly we are not loyal customers to the restaurant but having visited the restaurant a few times over the years and both loving Japanese food , we were willing to go here again. From the minute we arrived, it was noticeable that it was quiet. Of course this was to be expected as it was a Sunday night. On the other hand by 8:40 pm, and aside from the odd person coming in for a takeaway, we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Perhaps this wouldn’t have been so bad if the BGM hadn’t been faint, or at least we had been positioned with some level or privacy instead of being overlooked by the staff on duty behind the counter. Our waiter for the evening arrived at the table asking if he could take our orders for drinks. We did so, only to find out that the plum wine, our original choice, had sold out for the evening. Slightly disappointed though not overly fazed, we picked something else from the menu. Our waiter was admittedly attentive and polite. However aside from serving our food , he wasn 't willing to particularly engage in a friendly conversation or at least create a welcoming atmosphere towards the only two customers eating in the restaurant . As we waited for the drinks, we looked through the menu and picked out our food choices. It took nearly ten minutes for our drinks to arrive. Of course from where we were seated, we could see and understand that our waiter had to take a phone call in between grabbing our drinks. We ordered our starters consisting of what should’ve been chicken karaage and pumpkin croquettes, as well as our mains; two bento boxes. One which was chicken teriyaki and another which was beef. The awkward atmosphere intensified after our starters arrived within fifteen minutes. The waiter had mixed up our order of pumpkin croquettes for prawn tempura. We weren 't willing to cause a fuss and so we kept quiet about the wrong starter. As it happens, the tempura prawns were by all honest confessions, okay. My mother cannot eat seafood and so she stuck to her order of chicken karaage. Having eaten karaage at several Japanese restaurants in the past and even often having made Karaage from scratch, she was disappointed by her starter. Trying a piece for myself, I couldn’t help but agree with her. The chicken was similar to a frozen nugget rather than having a soft and crumbling texture, and whilst the spicy mayo was certainly nice, it did little to disguise the bland batter used. Within less than five minutes of our starters arriving, we were shocked that our main courses had arrived. Of course while we did understand that the restaurant would be closing in around an hour and the kitchen wanted to complete any outstanding orders, we unsurprisingly felt rushed. Our mains were decent though not exceptional. Thankfully we had a rough idea what was being served in the bento boxes. However we did both observe after leaving the restaurant that the waiter had not at least explained what made up their bento boxes, or even double-checked if we had any food allergies after taking our order. Perhaps the best parts of the bento boxes were the teriyaki meats and beansprouts, alongside the pickled ginger. However aside from these sections of the bento box, the rest of the meal was unimpressively adequate. Our rice portions were generous but soggy and while the hosmaki rolls comprised of cucumber and salmon were generous also, they were worryingly bland, chewy and difficult to digest. My mother had to politely take a big gulp of her drink in order to avoid spitting it out after trying one of the cucumber hosmaki rolls. After our main meal we decided to go for dessert comprised of two seperate orders of mochi ice cream; a mixed plate- consisting of coconut, mango what should 've been raspberry from the menu though presumably substituted , toasted sesame and then a small plate of green tea ice cream mochi in order to share between us. Aside from the teriyaki and the beansprouts, the ice cream mochi was arguably one of the best parts of the overall meal. However it is fair to say that with all things considered for two drinks one non-alcoholic and one alcoholic , two starters, two mains and two desserts, our meal was certainly not worth the extortionate bill for average service and an ' 'okay ' ' meal which lasted less than 50 minutes."
