"We were very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We brought our two children, who wanted to order from the children's menu but did not like the Italian ramen that was offered. We asked if they could substitute one small ramen for a different one, but were told that this was not possible. The staff could not provide a reason for this policy, which left us extremely dissatisfied. As a result, we decided to leave and find a different restaurant."

The service was slow and there were very few options on the menu. The prawn tempura was soggy and not recommended. Additionally, a can of Diet Coke cost nearly £5.

Am so disappointed. Ramen was tasteless and floating in fat. Not going to last long if they keep serving such atrocious food. What a shame. Japanese food can be so fantastic.

Best place to pick up some Japanese groceries, plus they do the most amazing teriyaki chicken donburri and tasty ramen which you can eat at their tables. Fresh, hot and super yummy. View menu

Excellent food freshly served every day. There is also a market that sells Japanese foods, books and stationary for you to peruse around afterwards. The cafe upstairs serves delightfully good boba tea and cakes as well. If you want authentic Japanese food in central London, this is the place to go.

I visited the restaurant yesterday, but unfortunately I have trouble with my hearing and couldn't hear the staff clearly when I was checking out. The staff was very impatient and unwilling to repeat themselves, which was disappointing. I was shocked and saddened, as Japan Center has always been known for being friendly to customers.

The Japan Center is a casual place offering cold and hot food with a small grocery. The prices for the food and beverages are very reasonable. They offer a wide selection of sushi and sashimi along with other hot meals including Udon. The central location is between Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, and Trafalgar Square. I highly recommend. View menu

Nobody queuing in front of me, ordered a matcha latte, and waited at least 10 minutes for it to arrive. When it did arrive, it looked green in colour but had zero matcha flavour. I was basically drinking full fat cows milk on its own which wasn't very pleasant, I wish I'd taken it back. That said I will come back to try the sushi as they had a good selection.

Bought an expensive bottle of Umeshi £44) as a gift. Later discovered that, at checkout, a piece of adhesive tape had been stuck to the paper label. Removing this severely damaged the label. To give as a present is now embarrassing; such pointless vandalism would never happen in Japan. ‘Designed and crafted in Japan’ ‘vandalised in London’s zJapan Centre’. Beware very disappointing.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
