"Took my partner here for his birthday after it was recommended by some friends. Had an amazing time, food was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was for us both to have a 3 course meal!! Drove an hour each way for this evening and will definitely be back to taste more of the menu!"

"Stopped here for lunch on the way home from Wales with the children and it's that rare gem of friendly for the family but also with really good food, interesting wine and excellent service. Gutted I can't remember the hosts name but again he was a rarity full of charisma and competence in equal measure! Loads of nice touches like the little sketch lining that comes under the small plates, well positioned and decorated plates etc! Look forward to passing by there again and strongly recommend!"

"We popped here for Lunch and were seated straight away. We ordered a few small lunch bits to share and drinks. Drinks arrived in good time, food took a little while to arrive but we weren't in a rush so no big deal. As we...were seated we soon realised there was some sort of family drama unfolding in-front of us, one of the waitresses stormed outside and was ranting and raving outside the window, there were what we assume were staff members kids crying. Staff telling the kids off or to be quiet, different staff members rushing around to talk to the girl outside and then back in. A man then came in with a drill and started doing some DIY on the bar, which was not ideal to listen to. To be honest, it was a bit chaotic and made us feel as we were intruding. It was like the restaurant was open, but they weren't ready to be open as it was just a lot of chaos. We soon ate up, paid and left. They seem to have great reviews so maybe we caught them on an off day, but it definitely wasn't a relaxed lunch as we had hoped for."

"this restaurant is getting better when we visit, but tonight it was absolutely excellent. from the moment when one of our party appeared early (first in the restaurant and was wonderfully respected for the very friendly farewell, this was a wonderful evening. the staff was extremely nice and efficient and made the visit really. there were free olives, brot and cheeses directly and we were made to feel welcome from the beginning. [sides: why not give restaurants to customers small free tasty stores? they cost pennies and customers love them. they are also a point of discussion. that was great. for the appetizers, the chorizo, the cloves in feta cheese and tomaten (I know, but it works and the calamari were all exceptionally good. the Greek kleftiko lamb was absolutely out of this world. boiled for three hours and served with a delicious vegetable pot like a ratatouille, it was really the outstanding dish. another member of our party had the steak in pfeffergrass sauce and welcomed the great part and the rich sauce. the brandy and tia maria coffee have a completely new meaning for the set generous measures. The only less than impressive element was the cheesecake of the day, which seemed to be an external source and more pedestrian. all dishes were beautifully presented and served piping hot. there is no doubt that eating now matches the service in bistecca. this was a Wednesday evening at 18 o'clock and in the following hour the restaurant was occupied but not crowded. the word has come out clearly. it would be too early to say it is on a par with the magnificent retreat restaurant a few hundred meters on the road, but it is certainly in this direction. bistecca can not compete with retreat on hire or ambience (who can? but it is certainly now competing with them on the quality of food on the teller and at the end it is important."

"Highly recommended. Great atmosphere and an excellent steak restaurant with a wide variety menu extending beyond meat. My husband loves steaks and I was looking for a special restaurant for his birthday dinner during our trip to Liverpool. I found this restaurant on my own, I liked the menu I saw online and our dining experience exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is a combo of cozy and warm and elegant and the service was good. We loved our drinks (a good American bourbon selection for my husband) and I had a terrific old-fashioned. But most important, the food was excellent. My husband had a wonderful steak dinner (filet and perfectly grilled asparagus); I'm a vegetarian and had a delicious baked augergine entree (thanks to our server who recommended it). And a thank you to the staff for providing an unexpected birthday dessert. Overall, a very nice dining experience."

"Very nice meal special was roast beef in yorkshire pudding very generous portions of meat and vegetables. Veggies menu a bit limited and veggie pancake was just veg in cheese sauce with a pancake on top. Atmosphere was good it was busy...and tables quite close together in bar if you're concerned about social distancing. Neighbouring diners said kids menu would have been available for teens pleased to hear there's not a restriction on this kids all have different appetites and adult meals a bit overfacing sometimes for small eaters. Overall a great place to eat but be hungry!"

"Having recently being diagnosed with Celiac disease I'm finding it difficult to find food places that accommodate for Gluten Free, not only because it's a common cheap product to put in food but because Companys neglect to put their allergen guides online. As a family...of 3 we placed an order and have previously done so over the phone with TIH. Having waited 40 minutes 2 meals arrived with a bag stating refund due to gluten free only one wednesdays 1st my concern is the lack of contact to establish this, 2nd the other food arriving so I have no meal while my family eat without me and 3rd how on a saturday night could I have been advised you cater for gluten free every day with the items I selected. This is sheer diabolical as you could have previously provided food on a false premise of Gluten Free. I have serious concerns at your food and hygiene safety and it appears that only consideration is taken when it is not a busy weekend evening."
"This is intended as a neutral, purely factual review. Good points the one meal we had during our 2 day stay was excellent and the room was basic but comfortable. Bad points closed for meals on Sunday evening even for residents, closed all day Wednesday and no cooked breakfast until 10am on any day. We were on a boating trip on the Oxford Canal, needing a room and meals on the Sunday and Tuesday evenings in that location, where there’s nowhere else to stay. Some things had gone wrong during our stay and we appreciated being offered in compensation wine and desserts free of charge with our evening meal on the Tuesday. However, we had to spend £37 in taxi fares to find a Sunday evening meal in Deddington, only 2 miles away and we were unable to have cooked breakfasts during our stays, as we had to depart before 10am on the Monday morning and the hotel was completely closed on the Wednesday morning. For us, cooked breakfasts are a big part of the pleasure of staying away, as we never have them at home. Overall we found this hotel unsatisfactory and we would not recommend it as somewhere to stay. When it’s open, the restaurant is good. Rooms: 3 Service: 2 Location: 4"

"Visited Cattlemens Grill last Thursday.I had the Gunslinger Combo because I couldn’t decide on just one particular steak, so it gave me the option to taste 3 types. Each of the steaks were really good quality and cooked to perfection. The fillet was just melt in the mouth. Service was first class and there was a nice atmosphere about the place. It’s nice to be able to visit and support a truly local independent restaurant, instead of the multitude of national chains that are currently swamping the town. The new owners, who are all Harrogate lads who had previously been managers of the restaurant, are doing an excellent job in sprucing up the décor and extending the menu range, keeping old favourites whilst adding some new items, including a Mexican selection, which is welcome, given the demise of Salsa Posada."

"Visited 10th November about 10am after travelling from the Highlands back to England . Straight off the the road south .(perfect location). For £9.99 it was all you could eat. Cerial, fresh fruit, toast, (they even had crumpets) , pastries, yoghurt and a brilliant hot breakfast buffet. The staff were brilliant explained everything and showed us where everything was. We were not rushed and the staff kept checking that we were okay . We cannot recommend this place enough for the whole experience. I think I had 4 cups of tea. Thank you to the lovely staff that was on today .10 out of 10 Price £9.99 all in per person and if you have kids , They eat free Vegetarian options: Soya milk for drinks and apart from sausage and bacon you can eat everything else on they offer . "I visited broadway steak and wee before a week with my friend. the ambiente was amazing. high ceilings, nice warm lights, spacious and very cozy. they can say that the owner has made a great effort to create this atmosphere with beautiful furniture and ornaments. the staff was very helpful and fast. they all have positive energy so they feel like home with a beautiful real smile on their faces. the food was very delicious. I had garlicworst as an appetizer and lambskin as a star. I can say that they use the best ingredients and they really know how to cook meat. greet the cook again: I would recommend this restaurant if they like quality meat. I left the restaurant with a smile on my face. Thank you!"

"I planned my trip to dartmoor to visit this pub. I went years ago and thought it was great. I waited with my dog and partner in the car for it to reopen at 6. Went in and was welcomed, they gave the dog some water. They took drinks orders. Soon after the lady owner started shouting at me saying to keep my dog in one area. He was on a lead so i said where would to like him to go? She continued shouting and saying she had people over for dinner and the dog is making the floor dirty. He is a medium sized cockerpoo and the floor is dark stone so we were confused as to why the dog wasn't welcome. She said we can go if we want which made us feel like we ought to. She continued shouting about the trouble we caused for making the floor dirty and wasting our drinks. We didn't say anything back to her yelling and she gave us no choice but to leave. I checked ahead and they say dogs are welcome. It was all a but bizarre and very disappointing."

"the setup in le petit nantais is brilliant and it is no wonder that it has so many regular. the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with tiny white lights around the restaurant and a front of the house always there to welcome the diner. the talented accordion player plays exactly the right volume and it is really a beautiful atmosphere in which to feed. the eating is delicious, although a little small in portion and the special menu is well thought out and extensive; monkfish and salmon, from this set of specificities were both delicious, but more expensive than other dishes of a few pfund. the monk was overpriced to my view after definitiw, at £24.95 for a small part, but this is a small agony....read more"

"My first visit to a M&C was pleasant. We were warmly greeted at the reception and shown to our table. The food was good overall, although I did not particularly enjoy the grey sludge that oozed out of my king prawns. However, the ribeye steak was absolutely delicious and one of the best I've had - it melted in my mouth. I found the half an iceberg lettuce served with the meal unnecessary. The beef dripping sauce was particularly tasty. For dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding which was good, although I would have preferred more sauce. The service was average, with the waitress providing quick service without much interaction. She simply placed our cutlery in a pile for us to sort ourselves, which felt more suited to a Wetherspoons than this establishment. Overall, it was a very nice meal experience."

"Went to champneys on Sunday, we had been given a lovely voucher for a birthday. Hadn't been in some time. First impressions, not good, very scruffy outside, weed's everywhere, chipped paintwork. When we got in, I said to a gentleman we had a reservation for 3.30, he looked at his list, turned, walked away, apparently we were just to follow him! Not a word spoken. Pate, undecided on if it's bought or made, bland, tasteless. Burgers came, both raw in the middle, horrible. Second burgers arrived, obviously cooked quickly, charred, burnt and horrible smell and taste. Extremely overpriced poor quality food, and you are eating in near dark, small candle on the table, impossible to see. Avoid."

"I have never been to a steakhouse before where (apparently as I was told by the service staff the chef refuse to cook a T-bone cut to medium! Service staff said that it is the chef’s decision only to cook to medium rare! I thought ok, I would give this place a try nonetheless (I could have simply walked out at that point but I didn't, only to realise later that I should have! . House wine by the glass was cheap (very limited option especially for by the glass . I had ordered grilled prawns as a starter and It was nothing like what you normally get in a steakhouse and it was just about decent. Steak itself was Ok-ish since it's not cooked to the way I would've wanted it, medium. The salad and sides were jerry-built. Front office and serving staff were friendly enough. This 3 star goes to the serving staff and a decent atmosphere. I must say, the menu prices are indeed very competitive, but it doesn’t justify compromising on quality though."
