You will never get better value for money food cooked excellently. I would thoroughly recommend, you will not be disappointed. "This restaurant is highly rated so I tried it. I’m afraid it was a disappointment. I ordered a steak medium rare and it arrived well done and the chips were “flabby”. They replaced them without a quibble and the replacements were much better delicious steak but the chips were still not crispy but they were better). I suspect that I just chose the wrong thing. The pizzas looked good. The ambiance is stark and bright and it would not make a good spot for a romantic dinner, service was very good."

"Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the friendly waitstaff and promptly seated. The lovely decor immediately improved my mood, even before I had a bite to eat! A quick glance at the menu revealed surprisingly reasonable prices for a decent steak, exactly what I was hoping for. I decided on a medium-rare sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, and within less than 20 minutes, my meal arrived. I was absolutely enchanted by what had just been placed before me. The steak was cooked to perfection. Each bite was simply unbelievable—how could something taste so incredible? Normally, I don't order sauce with my steak, but in this instance, the peppercorn sauce was nothing short of divine. I found myself slightly annoyed when the meal started to dwindle; my plate had finally become empty, a testament to how enjoyable it was. As I got up to leave, the manager himself came over to say goodbye, and I struggled to find the words to express how ecstatic I was about my experience. He graciously thanked me for my kind words, but I felt I couldn't thank him enough for the wonderful meal I had just enjoyed. Bun Steak is truly a fantastic addition to the Birmingham food scene!"

"We had a great meal here on my daughter's 18th birthday. We didn't tell the staff that it was a special occasion as my daughter hates a fuss but we still received warm and friendly, attentive service. The surroundings are clean, bright and decorated in a lively Mexican fashion, but most importantly the food was excellent with delicious standard fayre intermixed with some appetising, slightly more unexpected dishes. We'd been big fans of Savina over its years in Duke Street and were delighted to find that if anything it's improved in its new location. Also (really important) they've retained the giant authentic sombreros that you can find throughout the meal if you wish! Fantastic all round, many thanks for a great feast!"

"Extremely over priced for what I got! Because this is known to be a steak restaurant I was so looking forward to my meal. I ordered the 8oz sirloin and requested medium rare. Sadly it came out Extremely rare and I struggled to cut it with my steak knife. The bit I did manage to cut off was extremely chewy and no flavour. There was white sinews running through the meat. By the time the busy waitress could be told she offered to replace however my guests had almost finished so I said not to worry."

"Overall lovely place! I have a dairy intolerance and the waitress was very helpful letting me know what would be suitable for me to have. I was originally going to have the chicken but sadly they marinate all the chicken in yoghurt so that was off the list, I didn 't fancy a burger without cheese and there wasn 't an alternative for me. There was a vegan burger on the menu but from what I could see that was it. I had the steak and ribs which were lovely, large portions. Partner had a burger which was huge! Reasonable priced, steak and ribs were £27 I believe but you can tell its good quality. The decor is great, lots to look at. Would recommend for people to visit here."

"We truly enjoy fine dining that doesn’t come with a pretentious vibe, and The Carpenters Arms was perfect for us! The food was outstanding – this place deserves recognition, perhaps even a nod from *MasterChef: The Professionals*. Some of our highlights from the meal included the satay sauce with the chicken croquettes, the confit duck leg paired with potato terrine on the duck breast dish, the crab tart, the homemade bread with butter, the truffle fries, and the delicious carrot cake for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions, and we will definitely return to explore their seasonal menus, lunch options, and afternoon tea. Thank you so much for a truly memorable meal!"

"I was a big fan of the Coach house in Humberstone, having frequented this establishment many times, over many years, NOT ANYMORE!, we arrived at 2.25pm on this August bank holiday Monday, To be fair, lady on reception warned us that we would have to wait until 3.pm before they could take our order, and we were aware that it was a Bank Holiday, so no problem with that, however we later found out that what the lady neglected to tell us, was that from them taking our order, we would then have to wait additional 45 minutes before being served, after a patient 50-55 minute wait after taking our order, with Sports Bar and Terrace barely 1/3 full at this point, I left my table in search of our waitress, to politely ask if we could have an indication of when we may expect our food (found 6 of them all huddled around the till), at which point a waitress I'd not seen before appeared to want to take charge and argue with me over how long we had actually been waiting.... who knows when the food finally arrived since at that point we left, food was prepaid due to us being on the Terrace, I did consider asking for a credit however i didn't fancy dealing with the argumentative waitress any longer, we were just pleased to get out of there, I won't be returning, I think the Coach house will be more in need of my £40 than me, BEWARE standards are slipping!"

"This was a fantastic find. Totally unpretentious, the staff were all very welcoming. The food was also terrific, notably the Gold Rush mushrooms in port and Stilton and the Undertaker steak, chicken and ribs. Would highly recommend for a hearty meal and we will definitely go back the next time we are on holiday on the Isle of Wight In fact, we might even go back before we finish this holiday! "I visited this restaurant for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service. It is a bit on the pricey side, but after all, it is a steakhouse. This place is a fantastic option for steak lovers in Yorkshire and really deserves a visit. I typically don't favor filet steaks, but the sirloin I had was incredibly tender and juicy. The unique concept of cooking the steak on a hot plate allows diners to choose their preferred level of doneness, which is great—though they obviously don’t serve it completely raw. The service was excellent, with the staff being very helpful, and it was a nice touch that the owner came out to welcome us—a rare occurrence these days. The only downside is the cost, but considering the high quality of the food and services, it’s worth it!"

"Went here to dine with a family member I hadn't seen for 3 years. I initially thought it wouldn't be great because my first choices were booked up, however, Bistecca superseded my expectations by a mile. The service was calm and very warm, especially with the manager (I believe it's a family-run business), who intentionally was a bit slow to take orders so the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed. The food was great, with the t-bone steak done perfectly to what I usually like (medium). The food was very quick coming out of the kitchen and nothing felt too heavy and the flavours weren't overwhelming. Overall, would I recommend this? Absolutely. Try it out!"

"This restaurant has such a great ambience. A lot of vintage style photos and sports equipment are shown for decoration. The food was good. Very friendly and kind staff. Restroom are very nice. The restaurant has two floors all made of vintage style. The dining experience was great. Most of the British cuisines are available. The taste was good."

"Have known about the Champany for years and it's good reputation so we decided to try the Chop Ale House first. I'm afraid to say it was a big disappointment. My order of sirloin was over done, medium more than medium rare and the...fat was charcoal. The quality of the steak was not great, fairly chewy, we get much better steak from our butchers in the Borders. The service was exceptionally quick, no sooner had you finished your last mouthful plates were whisked away. In fact we were actually asked twice if we had finished when we clearly had not. There is a no booking policy so I understand they need to turn tables, but we were actually done in an hour for a course meal. I was also very uncomfortable with the uniform' for staff. Plain black trousers and shirt for the men which was fine but an absolutely ridiculous traditional servants' uniform for the women with a long white frilly apron, think Dounton Abbey, totally uncalled for, very sexist. Overall a disappointment for what was with only person drinking and a shared dessert. I'm afraid we will stick to Edinburgh."

"We went to Kassap last night for my husbands birthday. It was our first visit. The food was cooked perfectly, it was very tasty and generous portion sizes. The wine was really nice and the setting was lovely. We had a minor issue with servers forgetting water a few times but it wasn't a problem. They gave us limoncello at the end of our meal. They also brought out a dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday to my husband which was a really nice touch! We will definitely be back."

"I booked the Cattlemans as it was recomended by someone who had been there several years ago and had a great meal. By all accounts it used to be a top steak house. We were a party of and we all had a steak. Out of the only had been cooked correctly. I sent my cremated medium well, bone dry steak back and it came back less than later as a rare steak with blood oozing out all over the plate but again burnt on the outside! This was a fillet and they got it wrong twice. Even the two steaks that had been cooked OK were nothing special and of us didn't enjoy our meal. This was on top of the fact the meals took over an hour to come in the first place and the chips were barely warm when they arrived. The final insult came when I paid the bill. I had a discount voucher from Harrogate Vouchers and they wouldn't honour it. They said that the voucher was only for off the food up to people and as we had a table of I couldn't use it! I had to insist they take the service charge off. What a dreadful place. It is obviously living on past glory. There are plenty of other good restaurants in Harrogate including steak houses. Don't waste your money here."
