"Within easy reach of Cirencester, Cheltenham Gloucester, well worth the trip out into the nearby countryside. We arrived around 5pm pretty much had the place to ourselves. Staff where all friendly got.seated quickly. The food where good portions my mixed grill was well cooked, the meal was steak red wine pie. Followed up by a Eton mess a mini pudding with coffee. The pub has loads of history, lots of snug areas a real.wood burner in the bar area, so great.on a cold day they're dog friendly. Outside there are different seating areas to the front rear, with a kids play area to.the rear. Also plenty of off road parking. Would recommend they also dona 2/3 course meal Tuesday to Thursday after 4pm, which is a selection of courses fron the main menu great value for money."

I am saddened to see that the restaurant has permanently closed... My family and I have been dining there since the 1970s.

Only had a drink there so no idea about food but really nice pub, felt cozy despite being quite big. Vety friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly with bowls, treats and blankets for them.

very friendly staff. we traveled with our dog, who was also welcome to the pub. we have special nutritional needs in our family. the staff took time to understand our needs and to review the ingredients in the kitchen for us. menu was standard bubble type options. a good experience will visit again

Not our first time coming, but first review. Really enjoyable meal, the staff were very helpful and kind. Food was lovely too, which is the most important thing! Knocked a star off only for the amount of time we were left waiting for the bill but it was busy so we do understand. Everything else was spot on though and we'll gladly return in the future. Thanks for a great time.

we accidentally stumbled at this place while we are at a weekend in cheltenham. we went to Sunday dinner and could not have been happier. eating was amazing, we both had the best nativity in the evening, for which to die! then we had the baked biscuits and a millionaire cheesecake, both were delicious! the personal was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. could no longer recommend this place!

I called home on the way and visited my mother. I've been driving past the balloon a lot, but I've never been there. Oh, as I had visited before! the staff was very helpful, friendly and polite. I and my wife will come to visit again. just what I would say could have done with a few chips more! our waitress was very nice and polite, came and asked us if everything was in order and checked that we were done before we cleared our table. would recommend everyone. top job!

we stumbled over this pub during the trip to alton for a long weekend. what a great pub with a nice friendly atmosphere. very clean and the staff very helpful. we had to start the best we ever had, we had to love garlauchbrot) our meals were delicious, especially my gammon. the children enjoyed their meal mainly the cheeseburger without cheese ha ha) and the children blument pots. would definitely recommend this place for a visit. it also offers a 10% discount with a blue light card. well done and thanks.

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
