We had a delightful evening celebrating a special anniversary with our family. The food was wonderful, and the service was outstanding.

The staff at this pub are friendly, and the establishment is clean. It attracts a pleasant clientele. The food is incredibly good value for the money, with excellent quality and well-presented dishes. I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 5 as well. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience!

Lovely off the track, Oldbury on Severn. Great area for walking your dog and the Anchor is always friendly with a good range of breasts and food. Plenty of space in or out. We reserved a table for a 90th birthday dinner for 20 people last Thursday, and it was excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious and served all at once, piping hot. There was a wide variety of meat and fish dishes available, although the menu could use more vegetarian options. The waitstaff was fantastic—helpful and attentive throughout the evening. We brought our own cake, which they kindly served for us. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Very disappointed. Sat in the garden with my elderly father who is unable to sit on a picnic style bench. My wife asked at the bar if she could bring a chair from inside for him to sit in and was told it wasn’t allowed. Unfortunately we had ordered a drink before we were given this news. However, we didn’t stay and went to another pub (also called the anchor) in Thornbury to eat our evening meal and where, incidentally, chairs and cushions are willingly provided. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Food was lovely but I have to say the staff need to know their craft! When I asked the waiting staff what the seasonal veg were I was reluctantly told oh, peas, broccoli, cauliflower oh and carrot I think .. she wasn 't sure and didn 't go and check but stood talking to the otherstsff who were looking over at me as though I 'd asked some weird question.(there never were any peas). Although the large sign outside stated that it was a Theakston pub when we asked for Old Peculiar the girls hadn 't a clue. Evidently they were not a Theakston pub and had never heard of this ale!
