"We went for breakfast with the whole family and mid way through the meal, a staff member comes over to my nieces high chair looks at the mess on the floor and puts the sweeping brush next to us. She says I 'll leave this one here for you to do . I mean how rude. Anyway we picked up the bigger bits of food from the floor but to make a point we didn 't sweep because of how rude she was. At the end of the meal she came over to me and said 'Oh you didn 't sweep it '. I said 'No it 's not our job to do it that 's what you expect from a family pub '. She then very rudely said It 's not my job to look after your kids . We would normally clean up after ourselves no matter what pub we go too because our children do make a mess, but the fact she gave us the cleaning equipment mid way through eating, accompanied by her huffing and puffing and sour looks we stood our ground. Going out for meals etc with children is hectic enough, let alone rude staff members making it more stressful."

Had a lovely evening meal and breakfast during our stay at the premier inn. The food was literally the saving grace of the stay!

Went in on Sunday lunchtime for the carvery. I would say that it's the best carvery in the area. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a Sunday roast View menu

We visited the restaurant on Sunday specifically for the play area, as it had been recommended to us by friends. Our first impression was that it was clean. Despite being very busy, we were served quickly and the kids had a great time playing in the play area. The carvery was delicious, nice and hot. We definitely plan on returning.

I organised a group meal for my bike club and friends. A joint Xmas and birthday celebrations. 60 guests were in attendance (so very busy). The staff were brilliant, couldn’t fault them at all. All the meals came out together so no one had to wait. All in all it made for a very successful and pleasant evening. Definitely going back.

I have been staying next door at the premier inn since November last year. I used this restaurant every night. The staff here are all super friendly and made me feel so welcome every day I was there. Food was always lovely too. Yes they were sometimes busy and short staffed, but then who isn’t during these hard times. Thank you guys. View menu

As soon as we entered the restaurant, a woman rudely asked us what we wanted. We explained that we only wanted drinks and mentioned that I was staying at the Premier Inn next door. Despite there being no available seating due to set up for Christmas day lunch, we were instructed to sit on uncomfortable high stools. The unfriendliness of the woman, who was well-built and wearing glasses, was disappointing and unacceptable, especially considering my own background in hospitality.

I will never go back to this restaurant. I had made a reservation for Valentine's evening and it was practically empty. Some tables were nicely decorated with flowers, but we were placed in the back of the restaurant, surrounded by a group of loud workmen. There was no ambiance and it was freezing cold. Our server seemed miserable and uninterested. We tried to order from the Valentine's menu, but items were missing. When we ordered drinks, some were also missing. The food took forever to come out and they even forgot our drinks. It was a disaster. This place seriously needs to step up their game because it is only getting worse. It was the worst night ever and completely ruined my Valentine'...

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
