"Die Bank has ambitions to position itself as a top restaurant in Hamburg. Surely, their prices are those of a top restaurant. Nevertheless, the food and indeed the service fails. We did not order the five course seasonal menu (32 EUR), but opted for individual a la carte courses. The food was average for a restaurant with such ambitions, not more than average. In particular the tagliatelle with chanterelle, which we both had, was disappointing. It appeared stiff and precooked, not smooth and tasty and the chanterelle were not gently but rather overcooked and wet. The guests at the table next to us complained about the tartar and left the plate almost untouched. As many other reviewers we experienced an uncommitted staff, with one exception. During the evening were served by three different waiters – there was not as single waiter responsible for serving us. The tables are placed with 20 centimetres distance, not allowing any private conversation. In conclusion, Die Bank – despite its gorgeous ambience – disappointed and did not stand up to our expectations. The cost of the meal compared to the value/performances did not match the overall quality. And we received a final bill with mistakes. We do not intent to dine at Die Bank again. Instead, we will – as we should have done yesterday – opt for Restaurant BULLEREI in Lagerstrasse 34b."

Hamburg, a port city in northern Germany, is known for its maritime heritage, vibrant culture, and local dishes like Fischbrötchen and Labskaus. It's a blend of old charm and modern vibe.
