"Great little find in a part of the City you perhaps wouldn’t expect it to be situated. The place is split into to 2 rooms: a bar area and the restaurant. The restaurant is like stepping back in time, beautifully decorated and it really adds to the experience. Food was lovely only slight complaint would be that the portion sizes are quite small for how much you are playing. I had the King Scallop for starter and a Fillet steak and I’d recommend both. Steak was cooked to perfection. My partner had the duck and said it’s one of the nicest meals she’s ever had, so would recommend that! Service was excellent and considering it was a fully booked Friday night they were very on the ball with everything."

What a fantastic find in Newcastle! The bar is wonderful, the cocktails are excellent, and the food is truly amazing. I highly recommend it!

It was a lovely experience. We arrived at 2.00pm. Had a drink before eating and had set menu, chowder, steak and apple crumble. It was very tasty

We were excited to visit Hibou Blanc, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the Sunday dinner was delicious.

Had a meal here for restaurant week with my partner. We paid £3 supplement for cheese board to be then given a tea plate with 3 grapes 5 tiny crackers and 2 bits of cheese thsat wouldn’t fill a tooth!

I have always enjoyed eating here however I was disappointed this time because the portions of food were so small that I left hungry. The food itself was tasty but not up to usual standards but this may be because it was restaurant week. I won’t be rushing back unfortunately

If you're planning to book during Restaurant Week, be cautious. While her voucher claims it's valid all week, make sure to verify the specific dates provided, otherwise you'll end up paying the regular price. It left me with a slightly bittersweet feeling. Overall, I wish the experience had been more enjoyable. xx

visited for restaurant and eating was very tasty and good value for money. the waiting staff was excellent as always. unfortunately we sat next to the toilets, kitchen service area and opened to the bar area, so it was very loud when the dj started. overall, although a good experience and will go back, but will ask for another table.

We took the opportunity to try Hibou Blanc during Restaurant Week, where we had 3 courses for £25. Super value. Everything about it was just up my street. Beautiful decor from the moment we went in the door. The service was excellent and the food first class. Its probably the best dining experience we’ve had in Newcastle. We will be back without doubt.

Restaurant week. Staters we lovely and well portioned. They were a little delayed and one member of staff realised we hadn’t received our starters yet after 30mins of arriving, came promptly after this. Mains pork and gnocchi was a small portion but full of flavour, however steak was bland/not seasoned and this came with peppercorn sauce. Pudding we both got the bread and butter pudding and this was possibly just not to our taste. Lacked sweetness for us.

"On a Monday afternoon, my dining companions and I had a special occasion and decided to try out a unique and intriguing vegan menu at the restaurant. We started with the Beetroot starter, which was delicious and very light. The fermented barley starter had a peculiar taste that I had never experienced before, but it was warm and essential. For the main course, I had the stuffed dish, which was artistic, delicious, and very light. The pudding was advertised as peach, blood orange, and ink red, but it turned out to be sorbet on crispy crumbs, which was still very delicious. We also shared a side of Veg, which was recommended to us as part of the tasting menu. However, we found that the tasting menu lacked enough courses and felt that additional dishes like bread, veggies, and potatoes should be offered to prevent hunger. The prices of the additional dishes were not listed on the menu, and we felt that they could be a bit exaggerated, especially given the cost of a glass of wine at £8. Despite these concerns, we appreciated the creativity and effort put into the menu development and the preparation of the dishes. We recommend trying out this restaurant and supporting their venture, but suggest ordering extra dishes and opting for at least three courses if you're not too hungry. We ended up going elsewhere for coffee and a vegan dessert to feel more satisfied. We were impressed by the fact that the dishes were plant-based rather than just vegan and would definitely consider returning in the future."
