"it was a long day, and I was uncertain what we would find open in this phase of the evening (to 2045 hours) but then we met this restaurant. I am a total fan of Indian cuisine, but this place enchants and delights me. the decor is exquisite. the staff was friendly and helpful. the food was delicious. I chose the murgh tikka chilli masala for my main course. I was ready for the hot Indian aromes, as there are three hotty kitchens on the menu. which pleased me, however, was the wonderful balance between taste and heat. it was classic Indian chili heat, but not overwhelming. if they want to eat hotter, they can negotiate with their waiter, but I was very happy with eating when it arrived. all about this restaurant shows excellent and I would find it hard to introduce a better Indian restaurant in northern Ireland. Even now, I think of speaking out to return. well done all."

Had yet another superb meal in Indian Ocean (Holywood) last night. This restaurant never disappoints. The food is amazing and beautifully presented in modern, classy surroundings. The staff are lovely and very gracious. The total package!

The garlic chilli ghosht was simply divine, melt in your mouth tender lamb pieces and a hot and spicy sauce. My dining companions were similarly impressedmby the chicken korma. The staff were delightful and extremely attentive but unobtrusive. I will be a regular visitor to...this restaurant.

I was friends on Saturday night. we had a fantastic stand in the corner, which was very comfortable and spacious. the food was excellent and the service was also top-class. really love the garlic and the peshwari naan brote. it was also a great atmosphere. it is easy on the expensive side, but worth the money.

Returning to this top notch Indian, as I tend to do on almost all my trips back to NI, I was pleased to find that standards were still high, even in these Covid times. High quality food with some interesting dishes, I don’t normally see...elsewhere, and pleasant, helpful and attentive staff. Can’t wait until next time. View menu

Everything about this restaurant is special. Such welcoming, pleasant, mannerly staff. Beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. Even the screens to separate the tables were lovely. I watched the staff cleaning the tables thoroughly and felt safe regarding COVID and social distancing. The food was delicious.. ample portions and perfectly spiced with huge chunks of tender chicken. 10/10 Thank you for a lovely evening, I’m already looking forward to my next visit

Haven’t been here for a while. Had a mixed platter starter which was very small, the samosa was the biggest thing on the plate, but sadly was filled with mush. The main meal was nice, although a bit cold. The price of the starters have...risen greatly, they also charge for the poppadoms and dips which l can’t remember them doing before. The wine is now sold by the glass, and the measure is served in a very large glass so you don’t know what size of measure you are actually getting, it was well over £7.00. The Indian beer is also £7.00. Although the service was good, the meal was expensive and perhaps not as good as we have previously experienced.

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
