"Menu choice was very limited and fixed a £30 for Saturday nights. Way over priced for what you got. Meat selection for starter was such a small portion and the cheese was a slither. The portion of desert which anywhere else we would have shared was so small you would never have been able to share. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was just plonked on the table. No pouring a little for you to taste. Very, very disappointing. The chairs are so uncomfortable. The whole experience which cost us over £80 was poor. Definitely would not return and would not recommend. The staff just didn’t feel like they wanted to be there. The veg dish that was served with each meal contained one potato."

I settled for a posh fishcake in a sweet chilli sauce and a good portion of haddock, chips and mushy peas which were cooked beautifully and well presented on warm plates. My companion went for the homemade steak and potato pie with short crust pastry....

Started with soup which was very nice, then the meat and potato pie. The pie wasn’t as good as on our last visit and would have been better served with peas than mixed veg. Puddings were nice though. Service was fine but no one about when we wanted our bill.
