"This place is a total riot! We tucked in during a downpour recently and were warmly greeted by a barman with a southern french accent so thick I thought it was a joke at first! This affable chap with few teeth not only served us some yummy coffees, he also entertained our kid by having him stand on the bar and play with the lights above. Then another waiter showed us pictures of his own kid who was the same age and chatted up our baby, cooing at him and lifting him up in the air like they were related. Some parents get freaked out about that but this guy was amazing and totally knew how to entertain kids. On our way out the whole staff literally stopped everything they were doing to bid us farewell. It was a little surreal, but totally amazing since the majority of places treat you like dirt when you come it with a baby."

We stumbled upon this little gem of a bistro while walking around town and on our way to the Eiffel Tower. Excellent escargot as an appetizer. Nice beer and wine selection. We opted for the Steak Au poivre, beef bourguinon and "le hamburger". All excellent...More

Service staff speaks English, very friendly. Escargots is super delicious! The duck is good, beef steak is not bad. There are too many restaurants to choose from with similar food, and friendly and good service seems more important now - so I recommend this place!

This restaurant should be ranked much higher. Location on the map is not accurate. Located right next to Gauteaux Thoumaix (?) the bakery not the restaurant. One of the best meals we had. Special that day was Beef Bourgogne. Oh my. Daughter had steak a pourvie (?). Cooked perfectly at medium. Will go again in a heartbeat

Well perhaps because we ordered basic food… Joey had the entrecôte with béarnaise sauce and I had a hamburger with french fries and a small salad. Both were ordered medium rare and the stick can we do mayor with the burger did not. However the burger was very juicy and very tasty. The vinaigrette dressing was lovely on the salad. Service was excellent, yes, and family-run. View menu

This place was great. We had some issues with our airbnb and had to pick a place to hang out in the meantime. They totally turned around our Paris experience. Interacted with 3 different staff members and all were very friendly despite our large bags and lack of French. Charcuterie board was tasty and got two 1L cocktails for 30 euros. I think it was happy hour. They play funny American remix music. Overall awesome chill atmosphere.

We wandered in to this cafe not knowing what to expect. Well, the food was beautiful, massive servings too! The staff were unbelievably friendly, especially our beautiful waitress I think her name was Marina. We had such a giggle over our very feeble attempts to speak French. We enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner the next night. I am really hoping no one from this restaurant was hurt and n the Paris attacks. I would highly recommend this bistro as a fabulous and cheap place to eat.

We very much enjoyed our recent lunch at 'Le Bistro'. We ordered one of the 'plat du jour' (there were four to choose from) the Poulet Fermier with salad and choux fleur in bechamel (roast chicken with cauliflower cheese). The selection of wine was also very good, we choose a Pinot noir which complimented the meal. The service was prompt and friendly and prices were very reasonable at 13EUR for a plat du jour. Rue St Dominqiue is not far from Les Invalides, we had walked from Quai Branly and the Eiffel Tower. View menu

We've all had the same problem: Dozens of cafes to choose from, many looking indistinguishable from the others - but which one has good food?!Le Bistrot does. And plenty of it.We were staying just down the street at Les Jardins d'Effiel Hotel and walked past the restaurant a for a few days before finally sitting down for a meal. I regret that we didn't do it sooner.Food prices were reasonable, and I feel like I got more quality than I was paying for. Delicious menu, great bartender, and it doesn't feel touristy in the least.Highly recommend.

This is the first review I have ever written. This delightful restaurant is worth multiple visits. The friendly and humorous service added to our pleasure. Our waitress Marina made considerable effort in understanding our limited French (ie. explaining a double shot latte with mime and "un, deux" !!!) as well as replying to us in her basic English. She remembered our drink orders on our next visit. The older man behind the bar recommended the chocolate mousse in a humorous way...yum! Thoroughly recommended! We are hoping they're OK after the terrorist attacks in Paris today. I was hoping to contact them via email but couldn't find an email address so I will send snail-mail. That's the impact...
