"We were first in the restaurant at 7 and it felt strange and very quiet, especially as you are underground, but within an hour every table was occupied and the place came alive. Food was excellent. Perfectly cooked and presented. Thanks chef. Enough choices without being overwhelming. Service first class. Very friendly, helpful and informative. Huge selection of wines. A large percentage local but what ever your fancy, you will find it here. Priced very reasonably considering where you are. Overall a very good experience and will be back."

"visited Thursday 26 May, welcoming the most friendly despite the stress of a first service with a new organization. We had a good time, the choice of wines I loved the st georges. The accuracy of the kitchen, everything was perfect, at very low prices. We had the good idea to book this holiday, it would have been shameful to miss this moment. Thank you."

"The ambiance is clearly the biggest advantage with a beautiful terrace in middle of the vineyard enjoying the the sun during the season. Unfortunately the food has been very disappointing. We took a cote de boeuf which has to be redone because missed in first stance. Service remediate with charcuterie for the waiting. But ultimately the cote de boeuf was very fat and barely eatable with a very poor quality of meat. Service did everything to remediate bringing already cooked filet (can’t even say if they were good cos there was no more envy at this stage following a visit and degustation). Tagliatelle with gambas were also not well cooked and very medium quality. Thank you again for the service who tried a lot but can’t deny the poor quality of food which is a shame. M"

"The restaurant was one of two non-French restaurants open for the winter. The menu has two items per course. The starters were delicious (prawn salad and pork filled fried wontons) but I found the pho bo (beef pho) to be very salty. The soup was quite thick, unlike how it’s traditionally made. The kitchen is downstairs while the main dining area is upstairs. The waitress was very friendly although service was a little slow when the restaurant filled up. Good option if you fancy a break from the usual French fare available elsewhere."

"We've been traveling around Europe in major cities with nice hotels and Hotel De Pavie still awes us like no other. There is no location as prime as here just beside the bell tower and walkable to anywhere in the petite village as they call St Emilion. Service is excellent with great table manners, and they also offer complimentary transport if you visit their sister chateau pavie which by the way is also a top winery. Our room is spacious, bed/pillow are sufficiently hard, and the shower facilities are top. Maybe a minor negative is the lack of variety for their French breakfast (pastries) but otherwise a brilliant stay. The reception is also very helpful and you can book with them on anything (especially if you are planning to visit other wineries in the region). FYI they offer a flat rate (per trip) for taxis. All in all, it's been a magical time in St Emilion and Hotel De Pavie just made it that much sweeter. P/S they have two wifi options here, and AFAIK they rebranded the hotel name from PLAISANCE to Hotel De Pavie a while back."
