"The title of the review sums it up perfectly. There aren't many options in the local area, and according to my parents, this restaurant is the better choice - the other must be much worse. The prices here are about £3 higher per dish compared to our local spot in Nottingham, which was surprising. We ordered the crispy shredded chilli beef, but it turned out to be neither crispy nor appetizing, more like a sticky and congealed mess. The boiled rice was sticky and dense instead of fluffy, and the chips seemed to be cooked in old oil. The curried chicken dish tasted like something you would get from a chip shop. The only good thing were the prawn crackers. Unfortunately, they do not offer prawn toast or delivery services. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this restaurant. However, it must be noted that the server was very polite."

We think this takeout restaurant is great. The portion size is excellent and we highly recommend trying their special chow mein.

The restaurant offers generous portion sizes and delicious dishes. It is great value for the price and I would highly recommend trying their takeaway options.

I had the Ginger Beef with rice. My partner had Chicken Fried Rice. Reasonably priced and plenty in the serving. Complimentary prawn crackers, which were an unexpected touch.

Lovely Chinese takeaway. I had king prawn and mushroom and the Mrs has char Sui cashew nut , both with fried rice and was delicious . Friendly bloke behind the counter and just waited outside till order was ready. Paid with cash no problem.

Had occasion to try this in early April with a large take away order and no one was disappointed with their respective meal. Speed of service was excellent and was ready when they promised. Portions are very generous and not bulked out with cheap veg etc. I would not hesitate to try this again. View menu

We ordered our meal by phone and collected about ten minutes later. We had a shrimp curry each which was the most tasty one I have had for years. The service was very friendly ,the food was hot,a very good portion size and it didn 't 't break the bank. We will certainly eat from there again when we are back next October.

We come to this area every year (for over 20 years now) and have tried various Chinese takeaways but always come back here because it is by far the best in the area. Value for money is incredible and the only criticism we can make is that the portions are so generous that we occasionally have to waste some food not a bad criticsm at all. Everything we have tried has been good so cannot make a recommendation other than come here for your Chinese food in this area!!!

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."
