"my wife and I visited the ox for the first time for a Sunday dinner. we were greeted with a warm welcome and showed on our table and offered bottle water with the menus. the restaurant is in the cellar and has a wonderful atmosphere. the service was efficient, warm and friendly. we decided to skip the starters and went straight to the main course. my wife chose the slowly roasted veranda and I chose the dry aged beef rap. both mealtimes came with bratkartoffels, cauliflower, braded cauliflower, roast carrots, leek, green and yorkshire pudding. the meals were exquisite, a taste sensation in every mouthful. my wife gave me a taste of the veranda that was just as good. the crunchy almost broken and glittered in my munde. to dessert my wife had the panacotta and I had burned white chocolate salted karamell pecan eis. this was accompanied by a more than decent malbec. this is not one of the quiet restaurants where quiet is oppressive, that is a restaurant where people smile, laugh, speak and engage with a good choice of not too loud music. all in the combination of good eating, excellent service and atmosphere led to one of the most pleasant meals we had in years. we will definitely return and recommend to try this jewel of a restaurant. they will not be missed. 10/10"

I know it's a big claim, but I'd go as far as to say this place is Bristol's best restaurant!_Run by the team behind The Milk Thistle and Hyde

As the name suggests this is where to eat meat, thoroughly enjoyed our steaks washed down from the comprehensive selection of wines. The atmosphere was great which the pictures struggle to capture.

had large appetizers (bone, mac n cheese, asparagus and duck egg, share meat plate then had 3 bark meat on Sunday roast and a filet steak. was fucking beautiful, even though the blue cheese sauce was really strong! 6 drinks too. £160 plus optional £20 service fee.

beautiful location directly from st nichs with very friendly and warm employees. the service was impeccable and the food was delightful and good priced. managed to find a seat on Sunday for a solid roast, all circumcisions were well made, although the kartoffels came out easily to crispy and hard.

the ox is quite well known for one of the best (if not the best) steak house in bristol. it is certainly a very good! location by location, it is easy to find in corn street. your meat is really delicious and the service is always very friendly. I would recommend a booking, as it tends to be quite crowded. it is not cheap, but it is worth visiting

the steak was absolutely divine and incredible quality, the sauce was rich and tasty, the triple boiled chips were perfectly boiled. as for the red bone mark we had to begin. caramelized wobble, parmesan and sourded toast with the roasted leg. absolutely divine. the service was amazing, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place if they are looking for a good restaurant in bristol!
