"The restaurant of the pilgrim 's hotel is your typical, friendly, neutral, on the posh side restaurant. So I was surprised to find a clearly indicated vegan option on their menu Pilgrim 's Pie a light, nice veggie dish. In addition the staff was incredibly forthcoming, even giving me advice on which kind of beers and ciders were suitable for vegans without me even asking at all ! I didn 't get the impression that they are used to getting a lot of vegan customers but they were really considerate. I would definitely recommend this place for going out with people that eat everything read: I went here with my mother ."

A very cosy, historic inn on the Pilgrims Way with a small but well-formed selection of drinks.

Tucked away on the Pilgrims Way and surrounded by countryside yet easily accessible by car, horse or even on foot this is a delightful little inn. View menu

They had a sign on the high street that clearly said vegan Sunday roasts served all day so we stopped. You have two options nut roast or sausage. You can also get an extra large option with both. It came with potatoes and carrots and Yorkshire pudding. I had the sausages and they were nice, probably not handmade, but good. The Yorkshire pudding was really good. They also have a vegan cake and vegan desserts. The staff was super friendly and the place is clean and sunny on a Sunday evening. A good option if you are in Canterbury, especially if not everyone at the party is vegan.

The restaurant of the Pilgrim Hotel is your typical, friendly, neutral, on the polite side restaurant. So I was surprised to find a clearly displayed vegan option on their menu Pilgrim 's Pie a light, beautiful veggie dish. In addition, the staff had been unbelievable to even give me advice on what kind of beer and apple wine were suitable for vegans without even asking me! I did not get the impression that they are used to a lot of vegan customers, but they were really considerate. I would definitely recommend this place to read with people who eat everything: I went here with my mother.

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
