"Booked this late on Friday, for Saturday night. Our first visit to Sassi's, and a bit worried as there was no issue, plenty of space for 4. We arrived on time and taken straight to our table. The prawn crackers arrived whilst we deliberated over the menu. Written in Thai (with clear descriptions beneath). We had a mixture of starters and main courses, these included, Thai chicken cakes, deep fried crab, Stir fried mushroom with cashew nuts, chicken stir-fry with oyster sauce and of course a Thai Green Curry. Additions of jasmine rice, noodles and stir-fry veg. 4 bottles of London Pride, a G and a soda later and we asked for the bill. Under £85, for 4 people including drinks. Cannot understand why Sassi's isn't packed. The service was great, not too much and was only asked about the food or drink when we were between eating and talking. A GEM of a place."

First time visit with friends, extremely nice food and pleasant service. A hidden little gem that’s well worth a try.

Had a great meal tonight. Lovely food good service. We had corn fritters and spare ribs followed by a red and green curry. Really recommend Sassis.

This is the second (takeaway) meal we have had from sassis in the last month. I can only say that both times the food has been delicious. I would thoroughly recommend, if it’s something new to you give it a go you won’t be disappointed. View menu

My wife and I regularly eat in at Sassii's and we love the quality of the food and the freshness of the summer vegetable that she grows in her own allotment. All of the staff are friendly and Sassi always greets us with a wonderful smile. We really recommend the whole experience, including the price.

Highly recommended Thai restaurant which myself, family, and friends all frequent regularly for both eating in and takeaways. Friendly family run business. Food tastes healthy and authentic. My favourites are the curries. Includes a good selection of vegan options including tofu dishes. Bourne is lucky to have such good local restaurant.

We decided to order a takeaway from Sassi's and were not disappointed. We had a red and panang curry with the egg fried rice and spicy rice. If you like spice then these are good choice. The ribs in red wine were a great starter too. prices are reasonable and I will definitely be ordering from here again. Hopefully we can sit in and have a meal soon. View menu

We have tried a takeaway before and not been impressed but, having read all the great reviews recently, we decided to try the restaurant. We had 2 starters and 2 main courses. We were asked to order by the number of the dish on the menu rather than by the name of the dish. Many of the drinks on the menu were unavailable. The meat in 3 of the dishes was overcooked dry and quite hard. The Thai fish cakes were gelatinous and tasted like fish paste. I may have been over generous in giving this a 3 star review on reflection; we definitely won’t be returning.

My wife I usually use a Thai restaurant in Peterborough but decided to give the Sassi's in Bourne a try weren't disappointed. We've undoubtedly found a new favorite Thai restaurant for the future. FOOD fantastic choice of dishes, far more than we are used to, to the point we struggled to choose our main dishes. We played it safe choose Thai green curries but next time we will certainly try something else. So many appertising dishes to try in future. SERVICE was spot on, not quick but very helpful nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly go back in the future can't wait.

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
