"This is my first review since escaping from voluntary lock down and I couldn 't disagree more with the previous reviewer Arrived last Sunday for lunch and was hugely pleased with the meal. Excellent Leek and potato soup and particularly pleased with proper butter with the...bread, none of the nasty sweaty plastic packets that you seem to get everywhere Roast lamb fresh lean and tasty Bread and butter pudding. Not the best I have ever had but damned close! Would have been even better with clotted cream but that 's a small point. Chatted with the nice owners (Wendy and Roger) and discovered that fish was a bit of a speciality and fresh supplies were coming in Wednesday. Accordingly returned for a fish treat Plump mussels in a wine and shallots sauce to start nice followed by Grilled Halibut with asparagus and veg. This was a rare treat as Halibut is very hard to find in a pub, unless of course you are in Scotland where in any case it normally turns out to be farmed and to my amazement this wasn 't delicious Finally a creme brulee to finish which of course was also excellent. All rounded off by an excellent bottle of proper French Sauvignon Blanc and cognac and coffee in the bar, a proper civilised meal way above normal pub standards. So what about some criticism? Well I am not your usual customer I always have dog Lucy with me and I am a chain smoker so i 'm definitely in the minority. Firstly smoking is not allowed at the outside tables which is unusual and annoying. There is one table for smokers at the edge of the car park and I was up and down to that throughout the meal. Dog policy is fine though and Lucy was allowed pretty well everywhere. One final note and most people will think this peculiar. The service is too fast! I am very 'old school ' and like to take hours over a meal. Here your food seems to appear almost instantly and the moment you finish, your plate is whisked away and another one appears. Again this would probably suit most people down to the ground. As far as I am concerned it would be excellent if I was at Paddington and the Cornish Riviera was leaving in fifteen minutes but not when I am out for a leisurely meal. None of this is enough to vary my five star review which I give only rarely."

It’s been awhile so thought we’d pop in for Sunday Lunch. Loin of Pork and Monkfish later, very full and very satisfied. Outstanding food and brilliant service

We have been enjoying the delicious food at this restaurant for the past twenty years. We recommend trying the Monkfish or the Chicken Marsala, they are both excellent choices.

My wife I went to the Sun Slipper for lunch for the first time and what a wonderful place this pub is! A very warm friendly welcome by the staff, the restaurant was nicely laid out and the food was absolutely first...rate! If you get the chance book a table, this is one of the best country pubs in Worcestershire!

We only visit this restaurant once a year when we are in the area, but the sunny atmosphere and delicious food always make it worth the trip. To say that we enjoyed our meal would be an understatement - the food was tasty, creative for "pub food," served in generous portions, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Thank you.

eating was amazing! the waitress that served us was so courteous and had such a good love for detail, our second round of drinks that reminded them even of the smallest things like a straw in my drink and extra limette! the eating itself was beautiful, we...hadow the gammon and duck and will be 100% recommended, all, so a beautiful secret feeling, the restaurant, will be back!

We called ahead and were able to secure a table upstairs since the downstairs area was full. Both of us ordered the prawn cocktail, which was delicious but slightly overpriced at £8.95. Our main course, lamb, was excellent - tender and generous portions. The vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, and carrots) were perfectly cooked, as were the roast and new potatoes. We were served a large jug of delicious gravy. The drink prices were reasonable and the staff were friendly, although a bit slow to start due to being busy downstairs.

It's always a disappointment, when you have traveled a fair distance, to be served a meal of as poor a quality as I was given. I will admit that the beer was excellent, and in good condition. Just a shame about the food. 1. Starters... prawn cocktail. The prawns and sauce were quite good. However, this was bumped up underneath with chopped lettuce to obviously make it look bigger than it was..... Verdict: sorry, but an overpriced ripoff.... 2. Mains: Reasonably priced Roast pork and vegetables. Cauliflower hard, half cooked, weird taste... gave that a miss. No idea about the carrots or cabbage as I don't like either. Potatoes.... not wonderful. I'm guessing that the pork was a cheap cut. Wha...
