"We went to the Rising Sun for a family Sunday lunch. We were seated in the conservatory, we asked if we could sit out on the deck but this is not possible if you’re having Sunday lunch. The sun was shining directly in my in-laws faces, when we asked if the blind could be lowered the waitress asked her manager who said this couldn’t be done. The alternative table we were offered was too small for our party of five to be seated comfortably so we elected to stay put. The Sunday lunch was ok, though the quantity of meat and roast potatoes for the price was not particularly generous, especially for those of us who had beef. The thin pieces of beef were reminiscent of school dinners. We decided to have a two course lunch with pudding. We had quite a long wait before the puddings we ordered arrived. My husband enjoyed his strawberry cheesecake but I was disappointed with the Eton Mess because it was about 60% crème fraiche, 29% compote and 1% meringue. The crumble seemed like it had been microwaved and had very little flavour. Service was attentive but slow, the group at the next table had been waiting for their starter for a while when the manager told them it would be a couple of minutes; they still hadn’t arrived by the time we left. The manager was quite dogmatic, shouting across the room at his staff. We had only gone there because of the view and would not go there again to eat."

"I organised a group of us from work to go along to Casa in Melksham based on a single recommendation from one of the team. Whilst they required for us to pay a deposit up front and pre-order this was totally understandable given the number of us. Having said that I was nervous as my only experience of Italian restaurants previously have been poor. The menu was varied and offered good descriptions for this of us like me who are not keen Italian restaurant goers. The food did not disappoint with everyone reporting the food to be excellent. The restaurant has accommodated is on one huge long table and we all had plenty of space. The servers were great and drink selection was good too. Overall, would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"beautiful stay in the sign of the angel at this weekend. bedroom and bathroom were full of character, tastefully decorated and well equipped with beautiful smelling care products, tea and coffee accessories and delicious homemade klappenjack. guests have a cozy living room where we were able to enjoy a celebrity bottle bubbly, we had waited in our room when we checked in. dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, great service and incredibly tasty eating (especially the pork bell! . it was also very reasonable price would highly recommend! we had breakfast before our departure, which was included in the room price. fruit, yogurt, müsli, juice, croissants and marmelade were offered on a table, while a good selection of hot items was available from a menu. again a great service and good food: many thanks to all for our weekend so fantastic!"

"As an add dendum I did not stay in the rooms but the 5 stars is for food. We had a new year's eve lunch here. Every single dish was excellent. All made perfectly and tasted delicious. They do a range of food types from amazing burgers to haute cuisine type dishes. We had fish cake and cured trout for starters. Both amazing. My eldest (5 1/2) ate 2 portions of fish goujons. My youngest (2) ate all of hers. Wine very good, food and service amazing. I also want to take a moment to say how amazing, caring and attentive Maya our waitress was. I was quite demanding (a knock on effect from kids) but she listened and responded to every question and request perfectly. I couldn't ask for more from a server. Thank you so much Maya."

"Akash offer excellent service as a take-away, delivery service, or eat-in restaurant. The premises are clean and bright and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food always arrives promptly and is of exceptionally high quality. They also offer a number of dishes which are difficult to find elsewhere, including a selection of Dosas. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I rate them highest of all the Indian restaurants in Chippenham."
