"Popped in after a dog walk. Nice and welcoming dogs allowed too. Had a nice chat with the people inside, very friendly. Had some food whilst i was there along with a nice ale, was nice, felt the gormet burger was a little on the small side for price unfortunately the fries had so much salt on i was brushing it off, would have preferred to salt my own. Really wanted to give it 5 stars because of how welcoming it was, felt the food was trying to be too posh rather than filling. Dont take this as bad criticism other people may have different tastes."

This is a lovely local pub, well kept beers, well run the landlady took over in November. Though we did not eat the food we saw come out looked good. All in all a great pub.

Such a friendly pub. Staff all polite. The black labrador is gorgeous. Felt very welcomed for a non local. The open fire was a high plus. Will definitely be back when staying at motorhome site.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Michelle, the landlady and the lady working behind the bar were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We arrived too late to order food so they provided us with plates, cutlery and napkins and let us eat a takeaway in the pub! The fire was roaring. What a fantastic start to our holiday’

one of the best pubs I had. sad not my local pub. I'm here with my friends who were right across the trailer side. it was very busy, but the staff was on everything. the amount was really nice and there was a very welcoming mood. good choice of drinks and excellent eating. most importantly, this pub is really dog-friendly in contrast to so many others who are dogs tolerant. in any case worth a lot more than a visit.

very nice in this pub. I spoke to some locals and they were very nice and a good laugh. a couple of parts. then we forgot the order. not much a problem as we enjoy the business. the second was when I paid the bill. I got the order without the bill. I asked to see the bill, but the person that served me seemed to think that it was a hindrance and got a bit of an attitude. Apart from these small problems, I would definitely recommend it and would go back. ps. eating was also good.

"I have to say since having my baby, I’ve been here twice, and it’s the most unwelcoming place I’ve felt being a Mum. The first experience, I had to change my baby on the floor of the toilets as there are no baby changing facilities available. (A mat you can place on the floor is kindly leant against the wall of the ladies toilets. That’s the extent of it . When booking with a high chair, there is no mention that there is no designated baby changing facilities. The second time I came I just didn’t bother trying, as I was advised that a table can be moved into the ladies loo if I don’t want to change her on the floor. We were kindly given a high chair as requested. However the type of high chair provided, my daughter is just ever so slightly still too small for (she is 13 months-the straps just don’t hold her in enough, not a fault of the pub, just a generic high chair that we aren’t quite ready for, in some places we’ve been the straps have been secure enough but sadly this one was not . So I decided to get my pushchair in and use that for her to sit and eat in so she’s safely secure. When it came to the attention of the staff that I was going to get the push chair, I have to say I have never been made to feel more of an inconvenience than I was today. Since having my child. I was met with comments “you’re going to get your push chair!?” Like it was a travesty. And then met with an enormous amount of comments, looks and whispers and fussing around me, about how this was going to take up too much room, we’d inconvenience other guests (may I add no one came to sit at the table we were next to at the time for the entirety of our stay!? , there was ample room for someone to sit and not be anywhere near the pram. But instead we had to take all our things and move…right in the doorway!? Where the pram was then right in the way of everyone coming in and out or passing to the main restaurant. I have never been treated so poorly in any establishment since becoming a Mum. It’s played on my mind all day and quite frankly I feel humiliated. I wish I’d known this before coming and I won’t be going again, and I want to as a Mum, let other Mums know. And give the restaurant a chance to accept my feedback and maybe make small changes to be more welcoming to mums with small children. There was another family with a baby in a pram across the way, I don’t think they received the same treatment, but I would stress this is not a baby friendly restaurant at all at the moment. My advice as a mother, is if someone calls to advise of a baby on the booking, advice them that there are no baby facilities, even if you have plans to add it in, it’s not there now and changing a baby on the floor is not acceptable or sanitary, bringing in a table without relevant safety features is equally not acceptable. In addition, be aware that some people may be bringing a pram as well as the need for a high chair. Every mother has a different scenario they bring when going out with their children."
