"I booked a taxi from Sleights to Whitby on New Year's Day and was fortunate enough to have Jo as my driver, who is the best in town. I mentioned that we were in the mood for a cocktail, so she drove us right to the door of The Blitz. I had another encounter with the wonderful Jo later on when she went out of her way to return my purse that I had accidentally left in her car. Unfortunately, we only had about an hour to spend at The Blitz, but we absolutely enjoyed our time there. The ambiance and atmosphere were exactly what I look for in a bar. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I am now a fan of stout, as recommended by the amazing owner. I know he may get a big head, as jokingly mentioned by the lovely lady behind the bar, but he truly was fantastic. From serving baby guinnesses to insisting on not putting blackcurrant in my drink (he was right, by the way), the service was top-notch. Every time I visit Whitby in the future, I will definitely be stopping by The Blitz. I absolutely loved it, thank you!"

After enjoying a drink and the wartime decor with a PMJ soundtrack, we decided to return the next morning to try the breakfast menu. The Blitz Breakfast was hearty, delicious, and a great value. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely be returning.

Ate at The Blitz on 30 December, had seen the coffee shop/tapas bar on previous visits to Whitby. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the food was great, the service from the staff was excellent too. Will be definitely going again the next time we visit, which is February.

Not quite sure how tapas, Spain, cocktails, historic Whitby and the London blitz have in common!? But hey! The food was pretty damn good! Had a rip roaring family meal and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! (Oh and no deserts on the menu!? I just really don't understand the concept... But maybe you're not supposed to!

Such a lovely friendly cafe and really quirky inside. The cakes are to die for. We had a cherry and coconut cake, a lemon and lime drizzle and a Victoria sponge. All three were beautiful. The tea and coffee was gorgeous too. We needed to change our baby but they didn’t have baby change, they let us go upstairs no problem. Really lovely find in Whitby

I don't even know where to begin - this bar is a hidden gem! The service was outstanding, the beer selection was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a drink and people-watching for a couple of hours. We will definitely be returning to try out the cocktails and chat with the friendly staff and customers. I highly recommend this place.
