"This used to be my favourite Indian restaurant in Stamford, up until I ordered a takeaway last Friday. I am vegetarian and have been for many years, so I order on the phone and not via just eat to reiterate my dish is to be...just sauce with no meat. I ordered a tikka masala sauce and ate about 1/4 of it. The next day I went to have my leftovers and noticed pieces of chicken in the dish!! I felt sick and then realised had probably eaten small bits of chicken the night before. Ew. I threw away the dish and the accompanying dishes because who would eat dry naan and rice? I called them about this disgusting issue and they proceeded to imply I was lying, as they do not prepare the meat with the sauces. When I responded with the fact I have photos of it, they changed their tone and offered me £10 off my next meal there, I said this wasn't acceptable as I cant trust their food preparation practices anymore and I said I wanted a refund instead. They accepted and I was told I had to come into the restaurant to get this refund, despite the fact I originally paid over the phone but when I got to the restaurant they tried to refund me only for the sauce, which does not cost must but I explained that I couldn't eat any of the meal and I was out of pocket much more than just the sauce. They finally offered a refund of no more than £10 and tried to give cash until I refused and then eventually I was given the refund on my card. The man was quite rude the whole time I was there. Their excuse was the chef had got the order mixed up and this was the reason for the chicken pieces, its very obvious the dish was made with chicken and just plucked out before sending it to me. I am highly allergic to prawns and this would be a different story if it was not chicken being lazily served!!! If it was a “kitchen mix up” then I would have had whole bits of chicken in the dish and this would have been a genuine mistake and could have been rectified. Watch out, bad food preparation and lazy approach to dietary requirements and allergies."

I expected a good Indian restaurant as this in stamford the reason for my review is mainly because there was no high chair. the hunch was very chewing and very bad quality. I had much better Indian food for less money. I wouldn't visit here again.

Visited on a Monday evening lovely food and attentive service. Highly recommended. My only criticism would be that the portions were huge! Hate wasting food, but unfortunately had to leave quite a lot of the meal. Thank you for a really lovely dining experience!!

Visited on a whim. Won't be doing that again! Not much choice for vegetarians. First of all, the waiter brought 2 poppadoms without even asking how many we want! Hubby asked him if there is a vegetarian section and he pointed to the vegetables side...dishes and said you can make them into a big plate. There's no way I was paying £16 for a plate of saag aloo so I ended up having rice and poppadoms. Definitely won't be returning.

beautiful decor, good service, great popadoms and pickles. interesting food ... I ordered sylhety chicken and it came with a surprise egg. a whole boiled egg in the middle, although no mention of it on the menu. I found that strange. three of our...currencies came also plated, instead of serving in the traditional way of the self-metal shells, which I prefer how they can decide how much they want in their teller. I'm not sure if I'd come back, but overall the visit was a good one.

9 of us, work related with different tastes and experience of Indian cooking Welcome very good, and service all evening was exemplary Lots of innovative dishes both starters and mains.. The fish starters both salmon and sea bass were highly commended and looked delicious. Some...had plain options, chicken korma etc and some tried new options Lamb Tara etc. Everyone was very complimentary. Attractive decor excellent welcome fine food and big portions A new addition to our local food options and certainly a restaurant of choice for my wife and I in Stamford.

The food has been great in the past but the takeaway delivery service is horribly unreliable. The website says deliveries can take up-to a max of 1 hour 30 but tonight we have been waiting 2 hours. You can’t get hold of the restaurant to...check what’s going on, there are 2 numbers one rings engaged all the time, the other says ansaphone is full. We have no way of knowing when or if our £70 takeaway will arrive. Sad to say won’t use this restaurant again. Really bad there’s no way of knowing what’s happened to our food and 2 hungry teenagers. What a shame very poor service.

we had been looking forward to trying this place since the move to stamford, but unfortunately it won't come back soon. the prawn puri was not on a freshly roasted puri, but a precooked cold chewing flatbread and the soße was bland. the Rogon mains...was again Hähnchen-Ktikka described in a soße as medium, but we thought too mild; the (aubergine) brinjal bhaji was not too bad, probably the only bit fresh cooked. the service was out of hand and unattended as if they wished we were not there as they had a big group and were busy (to be fair, it was East Saturday). when I commented on the medium, was not sharp enough when I paid, the manager said you can ask it a bit hotter next time." We thoug...

family meal for four for my birthday. the first time in this restaurant, although it was recommended to me before. the entrance is small, but clean. beautiful welcome and we were quickly shown on our table. the first impressions of the restaurant were very good. light, clean, and a pleasant atmosphere. waiters were attentive and helpful. drink order was quickly taken and the food order shortly afterwards. the menu is good, not as “extensive” like some Indian restaurants, but the offer on request can be the well known dinner. the food came in good time and was very good and no problems at all. we had decided not to have any appetizers (only poppadome and dips) that turned out, and the portion...

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
