"Good location, parking outside, building well maintained and pleasant inside too. Have eaten both inside last year and then a takeaway tonight. Both times I have had good food made with fresh vegetables including authentic Thai aubergine peas and Thai basil. Tonights dishes were good overall; the soup was basic but flavoursome, one main was well spiced and fragrant, and included a few prawns, the other one mostly tasted of oyster sauce but a good balance. The jasmine rice was fluffy and well cooked. Portion sizes average but no food waste. Only improvements would be to thicken the sauce a little as felt a bit soup like, maybe dishes with coconut milk would be better though. the prawns were maybe not super fresh or over cooked as a little tough but still tasty. Ordering online easy although a confirmation order on email or text would be welcomed. order ready in less than 25 mins so excellent there. Pleasant staff/owners, very welcoming and a nice entrance hall to wait for order. Would order or visit again"

This is an excellent venue, fab food. Great flavours. Stunning sirloin as weeping tiger. Five stars without question.

Been here many times. The weeping tiger was excellent and rice and veg and stir fry very good. It was only after the main was cleared the 2 staff were stretched serving in the restaurant and delivery of take away meant we didn't have time for dessert and coffee.

I ordered the Vegetable curry; the sauce was delicious and a great selection of vegetables all fresh and cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chicken curry which he enjoyed. Duck spring rolls to start with, both courses were very well presented. Service was quick...

lunch for three was fabulous today. after a busy morning in the salon next door we chose the adjacent restaurant for part on price, locality and on recommendation of the salon staff. we were not disappointed. we chose from the lunch menu tapas and each had four dishes, all delicious and cooked for perfection. also choose the bananenfritter as sweet, divine! we have already planned a return plan in the near future.

Disappointed to have made a reservation tor my wife and I and turn up and be offered a table where people wait for takeaways and not in the main restaurant. When asked if there was another table, simply got a fleeting glance response “we are fully booked”. So if this is the case, why take out reservation in the first place. Not impressed by they attitude, but thankfully found somewhere else very accomodating that appreciates our custom.

After visiting for many years. This will be out last visit. Booked for Mother’s Day.. was able to book for 2pm. (We had no idea they close at 3, just booked one of the options available) got a confirmation via text asking to confirm which we did. Arrived and within min of sitting down we were bombarded with “we close at 3 so chose quickly” asked for our starters and mains, as we were eating was asking twice what we want for desert? We hadn’t finished when they started hoovering. Wasn’t even in the restaurant for a full hour! Disgusting service! However! Credit where it is due.. the food is still wonderful. Shame about the service: we also were not brought out change which we were owed.

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
