"Spotted this place on the way to our apartment and thought we would give it a try. Very pleased that we did. The burgers that we had looked hand made, tasted of good quality meat and were cooked very well. For some reason, they have a 2 for 1 offer on burgers on a Monday despite being very reasonably priced anyway (as was the rest of the menu). My daughter (aged 6) was very pleased with the kids' menu, which seems to have been devised by somebody who knows children. The beer selection was a bit limited, but there was a good choice of whiskies. The person who served us (I forgot to ask her name, but she had a good selection of tattoos) asked what I liked and suggested a Balvennie 14yo, which was really nice). I just wish we lived a bit closer as I would happily go back."

Great pub with loaded fries and great burgers. Pub quiz and good whisky. We came 6 of 18 teams. Good we think.

I have visited this lovely pub several times recently and have been thoroughly impressed by their delicious, well-executed simple dishes at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately the food here was really bad, we were served watery mac and cheese and a stringy steak sandwich. The alcohol was also served in a dirty pint glass. Really disappointing.

Loved this pub on our trip to Edinburgh, great staff, whisky cocktails and a live music night with young performers. There are other pubs in the area but they are mostly traditional old man pubs which doesn't suit us.

The Caley is a timeless spot to return to while in Edinburgh. The cuisine is delicious, with a wide selection of beverages to enjoy, and the staff is exceptionally welcoming. It is one of my top choices for dining and drinks in Edinburgh.

Great pub, friendly staff and amazing prices! We had the two steaks deal for £25 and were really impressed. Staff were super friendly and loved our dogs, good whisky selection for Mike and great wine for me. We live nearby so will totally be back soon!

We went there for an Easter lunch, with our dogs. There was a table of 5 of us and the waitress was really welcoming and friendly. I had the fish and chips and the food was amazing. 3 of us had the steak and one of us found it a bit chewy but the other two really liked it. It was such a lovely atmosphere. The music was great too. Thanks for a lovely visit. Will be back

enjoyed the food (pub grub but adequate portions and friendly staff . We have been before and had a good meal drinks. There was live music on (a guy with a guitar but it was dreadful. The tunes were all a dirge and actually put me off my food (a first for me! . I'd put it down as an unfortunate choice of act @management I suggest that you reconsider the quality of live act, it actually resulted in us leaving earlier rather than staying longer.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. It accommodates both vegan and gluten-free diners in a subtle way by offering dishes that are naturally vegan, such as penne arrabiata. The gluten-free pasta was a great choice and I wouldn't have known it was gluten-free if I hadn't been told. I tried the meatballs with penne, which were well-seasoned and the tomato sauce was delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The drink selection is clever and the menu is short. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to spot. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the quality of the food. It seems like they may not even realize how exceptional they are.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
