"Went with friends to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we got there to when we left the experience was great. A large dining area with plenty of space between the tables. A lot of dog walkers with their 4 legged friends, as we are dog lovers, it gave a nice friendly vibe to the place. I chose the roast beef. Only had to wait about 15 minutes for the food. A huge plateful. Piping hot. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, Roast potatoes, Cauliflower cheese, cabbage, carrots. Plenty of gravy (Homemade not the instant stuff). For desert I had the Raspberry white chocolate bread butter pudding. Heaven on a plate. Nice friendly staff on hand. Altogether a great way to spend a Sunday lunchtime. Definatly will be going back again."

Good pub food but cooked well and tasty. Good sized portions. Sunday lunch book first, otherwise not guaranteed a seat. Advised to come reasonably early as very popular and certain dishes can run out. Staff are friendly and I enjoy the atmosphere. Close to Portchester Castle and on the main high street, very pretty village. Well worth a visit. Service: 5 Location: 5 View menu

The lady dealing with the reservations at the front door was friendly, professional and accommodating. It was very busy for a Monday afternoon but the staff dealt with the volume efficiently without undue delays, I ordered a burger which came with the usual accompaniments and was perfectly fine for a pub menu. I would recommend this friendly atmospheric English pub. Service: Dine in

We recently had a small family funeral at the Cormorant Pub and were extremely satisfied with the first-class service we received. The buffet was fantastic, featuring delicious and freshly made sandwiches, homemade dishes, and wonderful cakes. I highly recommend their services for anyone in need of a funeral reception, as they truly go above and beyond to make a sad day a little easier.

"Well, I like reviewing and have to say having visited Mother Kelly 's many times since 2008 last night was 'poor ', now.... Maybe it was because we booked for 19:30 after watching a film at the nearby Port Solent, which had plenty of options to dine, but we thought no Mother Kelly 's on way home be just dandy. WRONG... Arrived bang in 19:30 place was ghost town with 3 other tables occupied, two eating one waiting for service, we entered were shown a table in the window (table 4) and chose our food from the menus, (my partner wanted scampi as usual, but a sign on the counter said Sorry NO scampi) do she chose Steak and Ale Pie, after about 10 minutes the solitary waitress came to our table to take our order on a tablet... We ordered asking for the Pie... to be told NO Pies left, So rethink, ahh Fish bites then abd a large Cod and trimmings, thank you, by this time Just us and one other table of patrons remained.... After about 10-15 minutes the food arrived, the fish bites well batter bites with fish is more apt a discription, my fish was okay, but was triple batter.... Obviously end if night for them, nothing in booking to say service stops at 8pm I had the choice of many later times when I booked on The Fork.... Disappointed and much like the Country you actually come to expect the disappointment received..... I have other bookings over the next Month with The Fork.. hopefully those restaurants are better stocked and the food is 'nicer '.... I really hate giving poor reviews but you put your head aboveground and you 'll possibly get shot"
