"The Inn has a scenic location overlooking Loch Fyne however we were having an evening meal in the bistro at the rear of the building so this outlook didn’t feature at all in our experience. Apparently there are views from the bar, the residents dining room and picnic tables in the grounds. There is parking alongside the Inn and we got a space without any issues. It may be different at peak times. The bistro has a contemporary look and on the night we visited there were a reasonable number of other guests which gave the place a good atmosphere. The menu had a selection of seven starters, nine mains and about six desserts with the mains varying in price from £14.50 to £24.50. There were a couple of vegetarian options for each course. I pushed the boat out for starters and selected the Hand Dived Scallops £11.00), my wife had Tempura Battered King Prawns £7.50) and we both had Seabass £18.50) for our mains. As expected, you don’t get many scallops for the price however the three I did get were very nicely cooked and all the accompanying items on the plate added to the experience delicious. My wife enjoyed the prawns which came with a mixed leaf garnish and sweet chilli sauce. The mains too were nicely cooked, the fish peeled easily from the skin and was accompanied with a chorizo and pea risotto and sauce vierge very tasty. The only disappointment of the evening was when it came to dessert and as we were a little stumped for choice we both opted for their Coconut Panna Cotta £6.50). I couldn’t taste any coconut although my wife did and that aside this seemed to be a panna cotta with very little in the way of substance or flavour. It was served with ice cream I requested vanilla and strawberries which were the saving grace. With an alcohol free beer and gin and tonic added our bill came to £78.00. Staff were pleasant and the service was nicely timed for a relaxing evening. Staff and guests were adhering to Covid 19 precautions by wearing masks when not seated, tables were reasonably spaced and hand sanitiser was available so we did not feel uncomfortable about dining at this venue."

We had an amazing seafood meal in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere with outstanding friendly service. This wasn't our first time dining here, and it definitely won't be our last.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and kind. The setting is perfect. We have stayed at Creggans Inn several times and have never had any complaints about the rooms, service, or dining experience.

We called to book a table but they were fully booked in the restaurant hich is a good sign. They were able to accommodate us in the bar. The food was delicious. I opted for the vegetarian risotto my other half had a steak pie. The food was well presented and good portion sizes. Service was efficient too. We had been a little put off by some of the reviews but while staying locally thought we would give it a try and so glad we did. View menu

We received a confirmation email for our reservation, but the restaurant did not have it written down. Despite this, they were able to find us a table in the back near the kitchen doors. The service was slow, with us being the last customers in the restaurant when we left at 9:30, despite arriving at 7. The Lamb dish was flavorful, but we wished we had been advised to order a side of vegetables as the roasted vegetables mentioned on the menu were not sufficient. The lack of fruity dessert options was disappointing, considering Scotland's reputation for berries. We settled for apple sorbet with ginger cake. Overall, I probably would not dine here again.

We booked for a family meal. A Sunday evening, 6.15. The staff were welcoming. The kitchen was very busy obviously, as we had to wait 50 minutes before the kids food arrived. They were getting a bit tetchy by then. Our food arrived about 10 minutes later. I had Pork fillet. It was well cooked but possibly a bit too arty fartily presented for my liking. My main concern was that for nearly £20 the portion was small. I was hungry so perhaps that clouded my opinion. However my wife had the same and also felt short changed... My daughter had a steak which was perfectly cooked. However the steak appeared to be covered in salt. The chips were very salty as was the sauce. So overall it was good in p...

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
