"Thought the food was good. Busy Saturday afternoon but they made room for us. This is a Pub and a restaurant, and a little bit sports bar. Everyone was very mellow and we received good service. I tried a toastie, a toasted bread with fresh cut onions and tomatoes. Did not include any sauces but there were packets of mayo, ketchup, brown sauce and tarter at the table. Included a site of greens, undressed, and what seemed to be homemade potato chips .Husband had traditional fish and chips, which were well cooked. The fish is always here one very large battered fish, fried. All was tasty. He enjoyed the local beer as he was driving and didn 't want anything stronger. The big win was the sticky toffee pudding, with two spoons. Waitress asked if we wanted a side of ice cream, whipped cream or custard. Couldn 't decide she said, I 'll bring all three . I didn 't know what this was really but it looked like a round chocolate cake, but it wasn 't. Forks dipped into the toffee sauce on the bottle of the plate and a mouthful of heaven came our way. Add the ice cream and the whipped cream just added more pleasure. The custard came in a little metal cup, like for measuring. The warm vanilla custard was a sauce, so not so thick. Delicious! Hate to say, two people could not finish this dessert. Not for size, but it was so rich. Always try the foods of the country you are visiting. Usually staples for a reason. Sorry no photo. Try these dishes yourself."

Great food. Best sticky toffee pudding I had in the UK. Even better than the one in Gordon Ramsay's restaurant!

Great local spot for lunch or dinner, very friendly with authentic meals and a great whisky selection. Reasonable prices as well. Nice area in city center to walk around as well.

I had a decent dinner at The Crofter. I ordered the steak with a side of neeps, and the prices were quite reasonable. The restaurant was also fairly comfortable. I would rate it 3.5 stars.

Sunday night features pot roast, which comes highly recommended. However, it's not the best we've ever had. I appreciate that the vegetables are nicely cooked and not overly seasoned. If you're fortunate, you might snag a seat with a view of the loch.

I absolutely loved this restaurant! We were only in Fort William for one day, but this was the highlight of our visit! I highly recommend it. The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is delightful. I’m planning to return to Fort William just to dine here again!

Great little pub in Fort Williams! There's a car park right on the street behind it. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner then at night they have live music!! Their menu is huge!! On top of that, there were 5+ specials of the day. We were missing America so we got the mozzarella sticks and nachos but they were amazing. They have traditional Scottish food, a whole page of burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and a bunch of appetizers and sides! For meals, we had the Cajun chicken and the bangers with mash and liked both. Great spot

We were referred here by a local who said it was the best food in town in her opinion. When we walked in, it did smell wonderful. Service extremely poor. The only way to get worse service would be if we were directly spat upon. No person in the employ of this establishment displayed anything even remotely resembling friendliness, helpfulness nor kindness. All were arrogant, rude, and insulting. Zero stars on service. They all acted put out by having us as customers. Was hoping that the food would at least be as good as it looked on the menu and as the local suggested. Food was absolutely nothing special. Steak was not good, rest was standard pub food of which we have had much, much better. F...

My wife and I dropped in to the Crofter on a Saturday afternoon and were treated to a very nice meal. We were seated quickly and after ordering, quickly received our food. My fish and chips were delicious. The fish was equal to the best I've had in Scotland, perfectly cooked, perfectly crisp, without any greasiness. The chips were a solid B+, just missing perfection. I had a local beer which rounded out out the meal nicely. My wife had the onion and tomato toastie, which she liked. We topped off the meal with the sticky toffee pudding, which we decadently ordered with ice cream, whipped cream, and custard. It was delicious and very rich (and filling). The Crofter is part pub, part restaurant...

I went to The Crofter on a gamble. Reviews were definitely mixed, but prices weren 't much more than the nearby McDonald 's for a sit-down meal. I figured I 'd take my chances on some local food. Service...was poor. I walked in, was told to seat myself, and then waited several minutes for a menu. Took a few minutes from there to place my very simple order of a hamburger and fries. Once I was done with my food, getting a bill took at least 10 minutes. I may have spent more time waiting for a bill than I spent eating. The plus? The burger was quite tasty. Juicy, nice flavour, and really no more expensive than a similar amount of food at McDonald 's for Scottish beef and a local bun. Fries were...

"A group of 8 of us went in before we got on the Harry Potter Jacobite steam train dressed in cosplay. They took orders of some of us but refused to acknowledge and take the orders for the last two of us, no idea why. After the first four got served they asked nicely the two older women if we could get our order in and get served because we were all together and going on the train. Still they refused to acknowledge the two of us,(except for nasty stares/stink eye) take our order or serve us. But they did take the order of the next 10 or so people after us while continuing to act like we didn't exist. This was very unprofessional, uncalled for and just plain cruel and mean. In case it was an accident (which I severely doubt it because while dressed in cosplay we really stand out in a crowd) it was very politely called to their attention, and yet they still avoided correcting their mistake/acknowledging us/taking a food order/conducting a business transaction in a place of business and continued carrying out refusal of any interaction except for the nasty stares. I cried a lot and went to the lobby area and the nice lady in the gift shop was a very nice, had muffins and coffee and she took my order and fed me. No problems with anyone else in the town of Fort William serving us in Harry Potter cosplay, or on the Jacobite steam train, or in Malaig. Every business we went to,except for Lochaber Cafe, was more than welcoming and very pleased that we stopped in. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"
