"My young daughter and her friend have just visited the Deck and spent over an hour awaiting their order. What should have been a pleasurable experience was in fact not so nice. They left having witnessed the adjacent table being reimbursed for their wait. Yet they waited longer to be served. They paid the bill without saying a word as embarrassed youngsters do (15 17 year olds) As teenagers I’m sure that you’ll agree that money is hard to earn and precious to them. But the service is also a key factor irrespective of age. Really disappointed that what was to have been a special treat, which they had saved up for, ended up being a long wait and more expensive than planned as they ended up buying extra drinks to fill in the time. No response from the deck when I emailed them to advise them our dissatisfaction!"

Great fish and chips (gluten free). Small portion and mine was a bit overdone but beautifully presented on fab mushy peas (fresh garden peas lightly crushed). A little pricey. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 View menu

Lovely location, not been for years seen to and served drinks right away but disappointed with long wait to take order food fairly quick to come out though. A prawn and salmon salad which was overwhelmed with lettuce and only one slither of cucumber which I would have expected more of as it was stated on the menu. Overall disappointing for a main meal cost. Service: Dine in

Visited for the first time based on a recommendation and the reviews on here, it’s clearly popular. Service was excellent, food very good, tasty and piping hot. My only observation, is I deleted some of the breakfast options. I wasn’t asked or offered a replacement. So I ultimately ended up paying more for less. It’s been a very long time since I wasn’t offered a replacement when deleting an item or 2. Service: Dine in

Great location on a sunny day unfortunately it wasn't for us can't change the weather! The staff were welcoming and attentive. The menu choices were excellent. Me and my brother both chose fish and chips. The service was very slow and when they eventually arrived they ok! The battery was crisp but the fish unfortunately slightly over cooked. The few crushed peas were dry and not worth putting on the plate. The skin on fries and tartar sauce were the best bit!! View menu

We were staying in Chichester and decided to drop in here after my wife saw it mentioned in The Peoples Friend magazine. Dropped in for a coffee and decided to stay for lunch. My wife uses a wheelchair and was pleasantly surprised that there was a lift to the first floor. Sat outside with lovely views of the marina. Staff were friendly but professional. Will definitely come back in the New Year. Thank you. Wheelchair accessibility: Lift made it easier and definitely a bonus.

Sadly, the Deck has downgraded from a fine restaurant, almost always full, to a café under the new management. The food choice has been severely reduced. The fish and chips, whilst good, was a very small portion. I had this because their famous burger is no longer on the menu. The wine choice has also been much reduced to 2 whites, 2 reds, a rose and Prosecco. If you go, its a fine café and location and you will probably enjoy it. If you remember it as it was , you won't. The fact that on the hottest day of the year it wasn't even half full speaks to me that the regular clientele have left.
